EX RWD handling in rain?

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I'm looking at getting an EX Journey RWD. I've driven an AWD Murano for the past 8 yrs and FWD for many years before that. I just moved south where there is very little if any snow but we get horrible rain storms. I searched the forum and have seen several Q&A about snow (and proper tires/driver response) but am questioning how RWD EXs handle in heavy rain? I'm starting to think I would be better getting the AWD.
Thanks!

I live in Portland, OR where it never rains :chuckle:

I have no regrets going with RWD. With a good set of snow tires you would also be impressed at how well a RWD EX goes in the snow.

I just LOVE my RWD, but I live in the desert where it only rains about 3 times a year...

When the road is slippery, my RWD is pretty squirrelly.... VERY.
So was my 2002 IS300 - but not as much as the EX since the EX has tons more power...

I used to have the 1st gen RDX with SHAWD and you couldn't loose your traction no matter what you did... It was fun those three days a year.

I have a RWD with the 19" wheels and its very stable and predictable in the rain. Even from a standstill with a fairly hard start the TCS doesn't kick in. Very pleased with it.
