EX: need specs on...

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Ok so, if I don't want to install an HID Xenon kit, what brighter bulb would I have to get to replace the crappy halogen that is currently in my EX. Anybody have some specs on that? I just want to change to a better bulb.

I've tried several halogen bulbs, so far the best results I have gotten out of a halogen bulb was with Silvania Silverstars Ultra. They are probably the brightest halogen bulbs out that don't blow out as quickly and they definitely give good results compared to stock. But usually most are high wattage bulbs which could cause damage to your factory wiring harness and still blow out quicker, thats why most stock bulbs aren't as bright. I know a lot of people us PIAA bulbs, I never tried them myself because they cost as much as $50-$70 a set, at that price I could purchase an HID kit with 4300K-4500k (factory Xenon Temps) to keep the factory look which would last much longer, look cleaner and have more lighting distance (less temp = more lumens).

Has anyone tried Halogen bulbs from a company called "Halo?" They have a Halogen bulb that runs at 7500K for our EX...that seems high to me - might burn out very quickly.

Also (and I haven't taken a good look yet); how do we access the headlight assembly to change the Hi and Lo beam bulbs?

I call myself headlight bulb expertIf you want bright, usable light then you have 3 options

1. Sylvania Silverstar Ultra. I tried these and they are okay. Easy to get.

2. Philips Vision Plus. I never tried them but someone I know someone did and they said these are as good as Osram Silverstar.

3. Osram Silverstar. I had these before and they are great. Bright usable light. They are not Sylvania Silverstars eventhough Osram and Sylvania are same company. Think it as EX37 and EX35.

I have tried those cheap $3 bulbs to $60 PIAA to $200 HID kits. For halogen headlights, above 3 are your best options. Try not to get bulbs that use higher wattage, they normally burn your sockets and sometimes the headlight housing. Any bulb with color tint will decrease its performance.

I believe so, I don't think 55W would be too bad, anything higher than that would burn out fast. Your best bet would be the Sylvania Silverstars Ultra, its really good and I highly recommend it, I have used them before and they also last a long time.

Ok cool, well I'm down to try it out. What's the best way to replace the existing bulb with the Sylvania Silverstars Ultra? Seems like it's a pain to get to the bulb.
