ex interior size

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

ok so i first thought it was going from an fx to an ex was the reason why it felt so small, but we just brought in the ex to service for an alignment issue and got a g35x for a loaner. i'm sure that everyone knows the frames are the same but wow, i feel so much more room even in the g vs the ex. the ex is so crammped and not even any leg room for my 4 year old. sure his legs don't go over the seat but man it's so annoying of how small this is.

yes i understand it's our fault for not looking into it first, but how do they get so much more room out of the g compared to the ex?

I sat in the G35 that was next to the EX35 in the showroom, yes G35 has more interrior space (a surprise for me too), but EX 35 is taller. However ground clearance height is what my wife wants, which is important in winter here.

yeah i just dropped off the loaner and you are absolutely correct. it's crazy how cramped the ex is for me being as small as i am. oh well. it's a great vehicle otherwise.

I also find the Ex very cramped for space. I'm only 5'7 and not a big guy but I feel cramped in the drivers seat. The cup holders seem too far back so they are not comfortable to use unless you move your seat wau back and the seat belts are also too far back also. You really have to reach back to get them. I don't know why this didn't register when I test drove the car but if I had a choice I would return the car after 600 miles. Maybe I'll get used to it.

unfortunately i'm almost in the same boat as you are. it is really cramped and one doesn't really notice it right away cause of all the other "goodies" within the vehicle. the vehicle is VERY small and it's something that the engineers should have thought about before making it the way that they did.

it's obviously a situation where it is what it is now but so many "little" things about this car are starting to make them "big".

another one for me is the ability to continue playing the current song while searching for another song that i like. is it really that hard to understand that people want to do this?

also why do i have to take my vehicle into the dealership just to have them program the doors to unlock when going into park rather than when i turn off the vehicle. can't it just be an option?

oh well...great car besides those few annoyances and one must be thankful for what they've been blessed with.

Perhaps you might consider trading it in on a 2010 model when it becomes available ...http://www.leftlanenews.com/in....html

i guess this article is the one i was talking about making the front seats slimmer, how much do you think it might give? 2 inches from the seats and 2 inches less in hatch area? all i need more is about 2 inches so i will swap the front passenger seat later

On one of the other forums someone indicated Nissan had stopped design work on the 2010 EX and the EX will be dropped at the end of 2009.

If you think about it, to really get it right for more people they would have to lengthen the body/frame. Moving this effort to the next generation G would save them money. They could fill some of the product gap by selling a cheaper optioned FX-35.

This will be a good idea!

Less EX on the road = More Value when I decide to sell, there wont be any new EX's available!
