ex 35 17 Inch wheels and tires

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

I have a 2010 EX 35 Journey AWD with 27,500 miles. The original Michelin Latitude Tour Hp's are almost gone. Michelin actually agreed to consider a warranty claim, even though new car tires usually don't have these warranties. But you know the problem - Michelin doesn't make a V rated tire in the 225/60 r17 size anymore. What are my options for new tires? I know that this situation has been discussed on here, but I think that the choices have gotten even worse. Can I safely go to another size without screwing up the speedometer, electronics, etc? Should I just forget the Michelins and get another brand? By the way, I did call Infiniti and they are researching the issue, which they should know about already anyway.

The Michelins are okay but I would not mind better handling. I am not interested in fitting a less sporting tire. I live in Washington D.C. and we do get some snow here from time to time.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

See this thread: ex35-replacement-tires-t562094.html
It has a good amount of information about what others have tried for the 225/60R17 tires.

For what it's worth, I'm running the Primacy MXV4, 235/55R17 99H. They have a diameter that is slightly smaller than the OEM size, but I have not experienced any issues with the speedometer or electronics.

Since you're still under warranty, I would suggest to stick with the OEM size for now (which pretty much means getting a different brand). If you're not interested in fitting a less sporty tire, I can't picture you getting something with a lower speed rating like I did.

As I posted on the other thread, I replaced the Latitudes with Perelli Cinturato P7 Plus. Couldn't be happier with them. The car feels so much lighter and quicker, and the ride isn't as harsh. Recently drove thru a pretty heavy rain confidently over the speed limit without any trouble. Haven't gone thru snow yet, but I expect them to preform adequately based on the rain traction.

By the way, I got approx 50,000 miles on the Latitudes and probably could have gone a bit longer in a different climate, but wanted to get new tires before winter.

I am new on this forum but based on my experience I had those Michelin MXV4 on my current Audi and they were great however they tend to have a softer compound and are expensive. They are however great all season tires with a comfortable ride and relatively low noise.

In the end I was hesitating between Yokohama and the way underrated Continental DWS (DWS: All Season / DW: Summer) ..
I chose the DWS and they offer an amazing value and great tires for daily driving
