I just wanna know who likes what. Feel free to post why.

Both are amazing but I picked the EVO because its more of a handling machine (STI gets props in the power department) and looks a tad better IMO (except the tail lights, they are the right shape but are Altezza style:mad: ).What would you buy first?

I've always wanted an Evo. It is my current dream car that I can hopefully get in 4-5 years once I am out of college and get a good job :)

i think you get more stuff for your money with EVO, and considering it held up pretty damn well in the newest SCC. (with like 4k in mods it outperformed the 911 Carrera 4S, M3 coupe, and Audi S4).

Mitsubishi is **** for reliability when it comes to street cars. There's a reason the Subaru costs more.

I'm curious to see how the Evo holds up, Mitsu has a reputation of building cheap throwaway cars for rental car fleets. If they hold together I'll seriously consider buying one. But I'm still dreaming of a twin turbo IS300.

STIbecause i am more biased towards subaru than Mitsu.i'm wondering if the 4G in the Evo8 was made any more substantially than previous ones, supposedly the jdm 4g's are a bit more reliable.give 'em a year i suppose to see what happens.

STi, but I love the FMIC on the EVO. Also, I believe that Mitsubishis tend to depreciate in value faster than Subarus.

Sure, give it a year to see where things settle...

But, I think the Subaru will have greater untapped power potential than the already very high-strung EVO 4G. Subaru overall "refinement", as the magazines call it, is what will sell these cars. Besides, at $30K+, Subaru basically already wins by marketing a more refined car to a market that can afford the car. If you drop $30K, you expect a level of refinement, no matter the name brand. Both will be novel, and both will haul arse and defeat most cars they see on the road. As a car is driven to and from work, the people who afford these cars will appreciate a better interior more than handling sharpness found at 9/10 driving.

My vote is STI for refinement and using an engine that will gather an aftermarket following and push power well beyond the capability of the 4G. I see the 4G in the EVO nearly peaked for real world, daily use.

If i HAD to pick one, Id go with the STI. Its faster in a straight line, and any car company that has the balls to sell a cars without a stereo gets my vote. However, i personally think they are both atrocious looking, and would not really buy either of them. Buy a Z!

I would have to drive both of them to decide. The Suby has some serious hardware all through the driveline and has 500cc more displacement.

I say to hell with these two, a Z and my 240. SRT-4 baby! Yeah!

I have to reserve judgement. I've been in an EVO and really liked it, (loved the Recaro's) but haven't been in an STi yet. I'm not in love with looks of either one, which is why I bought a Z. But I can tell you the EVO was VERY impressive on the track .
