happened in HK...I just like how the Hong Kong newspaper illustrates the story with computer graphics...lol

Apparently, A 24 yr old was trying to outrun the cops by swirving through traffic, well, he ran a red light and got nailed by a taxi from the side. The Evo lost control, hit the median, tore down three poles, and smashed into the high curb. The car exploded into a ball of fire, the driver was trying to get out but his legs were trapped, he was burned to death. :(

i think its a crappy way to die, even tho he was putting tons of ppl's lives at risk, i think that burning alive should be kept for child molestors and rapists.

That sucks. Such a waste of nice car. If the guy was stupid enough to even need to be running from the cops in the middle of a city, then I'm glad he is off the road. Not glad he had to die, but, ya know.

Why do you think he was running from the police? do you read chinese or are you assuming the bike is a police bike?

And also it looks to me like the second to last picture shows the driver getting out of the car

Edit: Just saw you middle caption - the questions stands though, do you read Mandarin? or was is captioned in English somewhere?

ok, just so you know, there is no written language of manderine or cantonese or whatever! it;s all the same! there is only one kinda of written language, which is just CHINESE!! :D

but it's a Hong Kong newspaper, so most likely it's in some sort of cantonese slang type written chinese!

that guy was stupid for running from the cops, there is no way he couldve escaped! no way whatsoever! trust me, HK is a huge city and way too busy for a car chase! one way or the other, he or the cop or some civilian was gonna die!

and yes it's bike cop, all highway patrol are pretty much bike cops, so they can keep up with idiots like that guy, and they can get through traffic in no time if something happened!

yea i like how the HK papers are like that, so much color, so much graphics, so cool, but that particular newspaper "Apple Daily" is not a very very very objective paper, it's known to have "added" ingredients in the stories before, so cant trust them too much!

from what it was on there, i could only think of a reason of him running away from the cops, maybe he has drugs in his car, or he is a wanted person from the gang or something. but if u can find that article, i can then tell you what the heck happened!

it said he fled from the cop when asked to have inspection of the car.

I appologize for my ignorance Hong Kong Chick. So different dialects use the same characters? Are the dialects mutually intelligible?
