I searched for other people who had problems with their SR starting and couldn't really find what I was looking for. Anyways, everything's in, harness seems to be all correct, battery is charged, all my interior accessories work, headlights go on, windows go up and down, etc..

When I turn the key all I get is an ignition click, and a small click from the fusebox. No starter click or anything else... wtf??

Anyway, I have a '95 SE with an S13 Blacktop.

I rewired the trans according to how Jeff at HT told me, but even If I did have one of the transmission sensors wrong, that wouldn't prevent it from starting right?

Please help...getting desperate.

Thanks in advance,Zack

By the way all harness work was done by HT.

I have the batter grounded in the trunk (i have the reloacation kit) do you think that could be causing the problem?

that defentily could be it, i would check your ground, you would be suprised how much things wont work with a bad ground.

Yes, and I even have my clutch overridden for my remote start. So that couldn't be the problem.

Tell me this:

You turn the key to ACC on, you hear the pump come on for 3 seconds, and hear the fusebox click. Nothing happens, so you turn the key back. Do the cluster lights stay on? Like the key was still in?

If that is the case, there is a harness under your fuse box that isn't plugged in, probably something you overlooked. We scratched our heads for about 4 hours with my car trying to figure out what the problem was. Found it, plugged it in, and it started, first try.

I was told that the S14 body wasn't a very good ground for the battery. I too have the relocation kit. I rand my ground wire right up to the bell housing and grounded it there. Something about the S14 unibody and all the tack welding becomes more of a resistor than a conductor for current. I would try to run the battery terminal to the block.

I am having the same exact problem but mine come to find out was the clutch sensor. I had to override mine for my car to start. Good luck and I hope you get yours running soon.

I am definately going to try and re-ground it to the block. As far as BuudWeizErr's reply, my cluster lights do not stay on when I turn the key back, only when the key is on. Also, maybe I wasn't paying good enough attention or something, but if I'm not mistaken, I did not hear the fuel pump come on (but I will check again today). I will keep posting till this whole mess is sorted out.

Ok, BuudWeizErr, I did find those connections under the fuse box, there are 2 of them, and neither of them were hooked up. I hooked those up, and the only difference I notice so far is that my CD player now goes on when I turn the key. wtf???

Yeah, my sister used to own an Altima. One day she called me at work saying she is stranded there because the car won't start. I drove up there with my tools etc. When I got there, all I did was bang on the starter with a 20mm wrench and started it. Appears that the starter was getting old and began to sieze up.

I also had another question: there are 2 square relays near the ecu, but only 1 plug to plug into them. Does anybody know which relay I clip the plug into? Does it matter? I have an S14 keep in mind.

Thanks again,Zack
