I'm about to do the install of my 10 wire Grounding Gear ground wire set and had a question about the transmission ground.

Is the transmission ground reachable by only jacking up the driver or passenger side, and if so, what side should I jack the car up on to gain access to the ground wire on the transmission?

Any tips or tricks to this part of the install would be greatly appreciated.

I just took the factory jack and jacked it up on the passenger side as that is the side that the transmission wire is on. Now I'm a skinny guy and it was a pretty tight squeeze for me, the hardest part was getting out. It probably wasn't the safest thing to do either. One tip I can offer you is don't lose tools or screws in your battery compartment, happened to me. As for cutting the holes in the rubber grommets, I just made a slit with a utility knife instead of making an actual hole and used some good ole spit for lube to feed it through.

Another question I pose is if anyone has any tips on how to get all the wires bolted on to the one mounting point on the front of the engine. I tried several times and ended up splitting them between the two points, but I know you aren't supposed to.

Also, it was a challenge for me to wire the ECU and TCU as it says and get the glove compartment back on, so I had to use the optional points that it gives you.

Do any of you guys have a grounding gear manual that you can post?

same here almost. i used my hydraulic jack on the passenger side, but i definitely chucked the rear wheels and had the parking brake engaged.

This wire connection is definitely the worst of the entire install. It will also be helpful if you have a light of some kind under the car on the ground pointed back up to where you will be connecting the wire to the transmission. even in the day time this was tough to see without additional light.

I did the 10 wire grounding temp hookup on the transmission wire until I took the car in for the next oil change. Then I had them move the wire to the transmission while it was on the lift. Was a no charge but would have been worth it for few bucks.

Thanks for the quick replies!

Unfortuantly it didn't go down this weekend as we got pounded by a blizzard and then the temps dropped down to -26 *C. BOO-URNS!

Thats a pretty good idea STL-G, especially since mines due in about a week or so. Thanks!
