So not to sure what to think of this but I say RHDJAPAN FTW!!!!!

http://www.rhdjapan.com/nissan...59471

Apparently you can get a brand spankin new block shipped to your freakin door for $ 1,564.10 which is freaking nuts in my opinion. So those of you who are looking for a clean slate to build a BRAND spanking new CA from the bottom up pay attention. Esp. since most of us are getting our tax returns back. I know just for a spare, or even to just start from scratch and build up I am considering purchasing one of these.... (I'm sure quant. is limited) Just a heads up guys. I have dealt with everyone from RHD and they are awesome A worthwhile investment if you ask me

Nice find... I have bought through RHD before, but i never actually looked for a block...

I don't think supply would be an issue, I reckon nissan would still have good deal of ca blocks (whatever % of parts they keep for spare parts/warranty).

It's one of those parts that I reckon wouldn't be replaced very often from genuine parts...

Now how long they (nissan) hold on to them for will be the killer

Noooo, don't jack the price up by saying they are limited!!

this is a nice find, but if i really couldn't find another block to use, i think i'd switch to an RBxx or SR...$1500 for a block is too much for me lol

Why is this block such a bargain?I mean the most of us are using aftermarket pistons/ rods etc.The existing block must be "bored out"... (<- is this right in english???)

For the price of this block i´ll get my forged internals. O_o

It doesn´t sounds so good to me.Please tell me, why is this offer so great?

If that's just for a block, you gots to be kidding (No way). Hell, I can provide a well-built CA with a 6 month warranty for just a little bit more than that and that's with brand new comonents inside including a polished crank . RHD can be a rip-off at times and their shipping costs are ridiculous.

Hey hey hey now, I was just suggesting it's a nice piece of iron to own lol. And shipping a new block from Japan for that cost isn't half bad at all to your door step from Shibuya. Plus you have to think I know the iron in my block is starting to rust over, and these things are brand new, I'd love to use one for a build because of all the stress put on the iron of an old block might be prone to cracks and god knows what, which is why you should magnaflux our blocks before rebuilding. In my opinion to start a fresh costly build this isn't a bad idea. Not saying it's the best bang for the the buck because as Dee said for $1,500 he can work miracles:D (and I would rather have a built engine for 15 rather then just a block) But for serious engine builders who want a fresh start I say this is the best option you could hope for. ANd it would be nice to have a brand new spare block sitting around in case you spin a bearing, or have crankshaft failure, or any number of potentially catastrophic things that could happen. Just my 2 cents

Boost_boy I'm in the market for a CA~

As for RHD.... its like courtesyparts, good to look at but usually a last option in my case.

If thats a block, crank and girdle which it is not, then one could start to justify the price. Secondly, most engine builders usually prefer "seasoned" iron to a brand new engine block from the factory.

Well 20 years of seasoning = fail for a top notch engine build in my book. Ummm actually ks13 I'm going to disagree with you. Me and Stephan Papadakis actually have hung out on many occasions and it's known that you start with a fresh blank block, and not some sh*t that's been used for a few years. Having a seasoned engine block only means that it's been broken in. Which actually for a better ET time you want your tolerances as extremely tight as possible, so not a block that's been expanded over time. On many occasions I have seen brand new blocks that Stephan acquired direct from Honda for use in his AEM civic, brand new never broken in which allowed him to run those 6.5 1/4 mile times. None of his engines were ever a 2 year old "seasoned" engine, fresh from the Honda factory in Ohio, and some times from the Hamamatsu/Suzuka plants in Japan. A fresh block is a always a good one. I guess in your sentence about "seasoned" it seems to me like you mean a 20 year old engine that's been beat to death. Not trying to start sh*t or anything. Just telling you what I know, and have seen first hand, and I even have pics to prove it if ya don't believe me lol. Heck I've even spent a few days with Kenny Tran and he would tell you exactly what I just did. But if you are reffering to a a "seasoned engine" as being one that is freshly broken in then that's a different story. Though it will never be as fast as it's first "virgin pass". Anyways this topic is starting to drift into something where it should have never gone all because of some peoples opinions. I just posted this for SOME peoples benefits who want a brand new block. Not to be crapped on by a bunch of people who shouldn't have even posted anything if they didn't like what they saw.
