Four tuner groups are going to Japan in Jan. to start bringing over Skyline for purposes of selling them. They will be making them legal upon buyers request. Starting out with R32 GTS-Ts and R33 GTS-T/4 at first. I will definitly hold off on buying a new Z or any sports car until that time

Lets hope Boost Solutions isn't one of them....since they kinda went out of business and hosed a bunch of people in a shady departure.

Regardless though, provide more info.

and that price is to get it shipped and legal status?

from my understanding (buddy in tokyo) said with each owner of a skyline the price marks down $500. over there you can buy a r33 for $7,000 US money. r34's go for around $14,000 US money.

hey that is just my guesstimation. i know that these few guys are very picky and also will have the best cars brought over here. i will have a skyline soon. also each one know the rb motors bery well and may even offer packages for the motor as upgrades from manifolds to intakes and FMIC to turbo and exhaust upgrades. why don't we just see once they get here what they are looking to get out of them. probably wont be as fast as my 240 tophat is building but still would be great to have one right???

yes shipped to amarica and legalization would be that higher price. if you didnt care about legalizing it you could probably get one for around 10000-16000? don't hold me to it though. that is why i said lets wait til jan or feb when they start coming in. i got to ride in an R32 GTR this past weekend at the DG trials at turner field.

nah im not saying your wrong or anything, just sayin what the japan cost of US money is if you where living there and wanted one.

i would hope tho that they are picky on what ones are bought. and yea if they can import parts directly (since they are local) that would be pretty sweet. let me know on anything else you find out with arrival's and all.

btw do you know a guy name jacoby who drives a dark red 240 coupe with white wheels riding around stockbridge?

Guys, I don't care what anyone says. Skylines are still expensive even in Japan. From looking around a bit on Yahoo Japan, you can get an R32 GTR for anywhere from 9-20,000 depending upon the mods, of course. You can also get a beater for like $5,000 but no one wants to import one of those. Also, R34s are extremely valuable since production has ceased and i have yet to see one go for less than $35,000. I have seen R34s on that site that have gone for close to $100,000 as well with minimal mods. The point is, I don't see anyone selling a legalized R34 here in the USA for less than $50,000 so start saving your pennies.

Just my $.02

true skylines are expensive... in some cases, but, the key is knowing who and where to find them in Japan. i made a mis type in one of my posts... when i say $7,000 US money I mean chage that over to YEN and thats what it will cost you in Japan.

ever wonder why front clips cost so cheap for all of us?

because its more expensive in Japan to fix/repair/ or not worth most people in Japan to do so, so they get rid of them and buy a new one.

anyway not trying to start a brawl just stating the facts.

well, there are always GTS's... they look nice and don't cost that much. When they get down to 8,000 legalized, thats where I kick myself (thats how much I have in my s13).

if you had read my post you would have seen that i said they were going to start off with GTS-ts and GTS-4s. GTRs would be a bit much to start off with and they are wanting to see the interest first. that is why they are only going to start off with three on the first trip. if i do end up with one i will be going over there personally to pick it out. i would only geat and R32 if it was a GTR. probably will get a clean R33 with the RB25 though.

I'll believe it when I see it but that's besides the point...WTF happened to the TopHat site? My RB will need that intake manifold they were selling eventually but I haven't been able to access their site for forever!

WTF? No. For one thing, they're opposite on sides of the engine. (I can only assume you think this because of those goofy DIY kits on eBay that list like every 6 cyl engine ever. The reason they do that is because you can make themn to fit your specific engine, not because they're interchangeable.)

edit: btw i dont go looking for information on ebay. ebay is to buy parts, not learn about them.

Well TopHat, as I'm sure you're aware, was more of an RB site than jdm tyte driftar like the Core place. (Although their turbo mani doesn't look bad) I can't remember all what they/he had on the site 'cuz it's been so long but I do remember a GReddy-ish intake manifold for the RB20 that was like $450 or something, but I can't find it anywhere else now. =\

Well seeing as I'm not looking to buy immediately 'cuz I haven't the cash, don't worry your friend too much about it. But if you talk to him in passin, ask him if they have an intake manifold for the RB20 and how much it costs.
