warranty would be 5yr 60k. but if they can't duplicate the problem they won't do anything about it.

Oh i can make it happen. All you have to do is Rev it up to about 4000 rpm and dump the clutch and it will stick to the floor. Even when you try to put it in the next gear it still stays on the floor!

Wasn't sure since the clutch is a wear item...but I just made an appointment at the dealership...I'll let you guys know what happens!

Usually warranties cover regular driving. Dealerships dont usually cover anything that remotely sounds like racing or otherwise abusing a covered automobile. I remember Subaru sent out some tech bulletins on the STi and WRX telling their techs to look for certain signs of wear and tear on broken axles that were signs of abusive driving. That way they could deny warranty support if the car was brought in with these signs of damage.

The dealership said that they have seen and fixed this problem before. Having the clutch stick to the floor in a panic is a safety concern, not abusive driving.

If the only way he can get the pedal to stick is to rev it up to 4000 and drop the clutch thats abusive driving.

Not if you have to downshift and rev it to get out of a situation. (it does it when you're moving as well). Or lets say that a vehicle is coming up fast behind you at a stoplight...I'd hate for my car to not move forward like it needs to.

and...this is a sports/luxury car that should be able to handle spirited launches.

Taking her in tomorrow (Tuesday). I'm just afraid the clutch wont cooperate with me and shift normal

I tested it this weekend and it didn't do it! I wonder if this problem is indeed heat related (it was much cooler this weekend)

Good news! The dealer replaced the slave cylinder, fixed my drivers' seat rip, and adjusted the glove box (don't ask)...all for $10 which was to cover the loaner gas!

I'm picking her up this afternoon; I'll let you guys know how the clutch performs

I must say that this dealership, Infiniti of South Atlanta in Union City, has been great with any warranty issues. I'm always ready for a fight when it comes to warranty work, but they haven't given me any problems at all!

I just called and made an appointment for that. The guy at Infiniti said his first guess would be the slave cylinder too. I told him that i did some research on the infiniti forums and that is what everyone was having done. I need them to fix my rear window on the pass side rear door it creeks bad!

I will keep everyone posted and see what they do.

JOE did you have to show them how it happens. I told them it was scary to drive on the interstate!

Nope, I just described the problem to the service consultant. They have done a few of these so he knew what I was talking about (which helped!).

I took it in and i had a list of 5 things that i needed fixed.1. The slave cylinder2. creak in the rear pass window3. Check the brakes4. Adjust the head lights5. There is a unknown noise when you turn on the car on. IT happens sometimes when the car is in 1st gear and you are like accelerating but at a slow pace!

They are still looking for the casue so that they can fix it. I Can't wait to get her back!

I will keep you posted!

Hey but we still need to keep that fluid clean! ! !

Infiniti of Tampa has done a great Job with the service. I hope they Detail it for me lol

Strange...My fluid looked crappy like yours. I only had to change the reservoir twice until it was nice and pretty again. That can't be right...can it?

^ Did you pump the clutch to circulate the new fluid?

Infiniti gave me the car back. They fixed a creak in the rear pass window. they replaced the slave cylinder, clutch pedal assembly... they said it made a funny noise, they adjusted my head lights, and told me that CAHHERRRRCCH noise that i hear every time i turn the car on and go into first gear is the ABS pumb that is running a self test. (I think i am going to start a new post about that lol.) Then during a road test they noticed my brakes were casuing a shake during braking. so they looked at my brakes and noticed that it had fairly new pads. They told me my rotors were warped and needed to be cut but that due to that fact the pads had been ruined too, so they did a full brake job on the G. I also got to drive a 07 G35S loaner and got my G35 Detailed for Zero, Zilch, Nada! Oh Thank Heven it all being covered under warranty!

Oh and you want to know something funny, The head tech told me when i was at the Infiniti Dealership that "If you think the exhaust is too loud to bring it in because during production Infiniti Installed the wrong mid pipe to your car. The one that is installed on your car is off of a infiniti coupe!" I replied "Well i love the sound and don't want to change it, but what dumb asses" lol

Glad to hear you got your car back! I'm surprised that they did the brakes for free...that's not a warranty item!

That is what i said about the brakes.... But they say that if you maintain your pads and you change them when they need to be changed and don't damage the rotors, that it is covered by your warranty!

Yup, I pumped it many, many, many times. I even drove around for a week. And then I had a DOH! moment. By only changing the reservoir twice, I didn't completely remove all of the old DOT 3. Now it's mixed and I need to go back and do it all over again. I'll probably do at least a bottle and a half to ensure that it's completly DOT 4 synthetic now.

Live and learn.

speaking about dot 3 vs dot 4... I had the dot 4 in my g but then when they fixed the slave cylinder i bet they put dot 3 back into the car!

I flush my slave cylinder every time I change the oil. It's only like 2 feet away and takes like a minute to do if you got someone there to pump the clutch for ya =)

Not knockin the suck/refill/pump method...I just like to see the new/clear fluid coming out the bottom to show it's 100% flushed. I'm crazy like that....I also run new oil through my car at each oil change until it drains clear as well. Ya it costs a few extra bucks....but it's still cheaper than taking it somewhere, and I know it's done right!

I used the ol turkey baster method and it took many suck-fill-pump episodes to do it myself. I used a generic DOT4 and it took about 1 bottle before the fluid was clear.

Now that I've driven the car for 200 miles, I can fairly say that clutch engagement is noticeably smoother.

Have you checked the fluid after you change it out? just wondering I changed mine a few days ago and checked it and its right back to being dirty brown color. Did I not get it all out or does it just turn that color fast?

Just checked mine today after reading this and sure enough, it was the same brown color. I will be draining it tomorrow and changing it out with the DOT 4 fluid. Thanks for the heads up on this.

Was your pedal sticking to the floor during hard accelerating? BTW this is my first post...Just purchased 05 G35 coupe and I will post pics this weekend. The pedal on mine is sticking to the floor I will be changing the fluid on Sunday, I hope that this will eliminate the issue.

I didn't have the clutch sticking to the floor but I didn't want to wait for it. The clutch engagement is noticeably smoother.
