so, here's the scoop...i was at a local car show this past weekend and i see this car come rolling in. its been at almost every one of the shows i have been to this year and its pretty obviously this guy is pretty new to the scene. before i go any farther, i understand everyone has their own niche and certan tastes but, ill let you guys decide on this one! if you notice, the car is a kia spectra, but pay attention to the decals and see if you notice the same things i did. this guy is NOT sponsored so the decals do not represent actual products on his car, first off. then he has MOPAR & NISMO decals!!! WTF?? i have personally gone over this car several times to try and validate at least one decal, but to no avail. the only things added to this car are a body kit, center mount exhaust, air filter (not intake...just filter) and some black lights. ok, enough of my opinions - what do you guys think?? by the way, he says he's going to enter it in the next HIN show!!

Wow...

Those little Spectras are UGLY turds. My neighbor's daughter has one in a horrible metallic blue...that color amplifies the disgusting cuteness by tenthousandfold. I can't stand how the "character" crease on the doors curves, making an already too-round car look even more bubbly.

I also love how the intake is hidden down behind the battery, safely out of the way of any good airflow.

But the worst part is that there are a bunch of TROPHIES sitting in front of the car.

2 things. 1) Did you see the carsponsorships.com decal? That means all the free vinyl you can paste on your car. 2) Did he actually win the trophy in front of his car, or buy it from a trophy shop? If he actually won the trophy at a car show, , in a bone stock Kia with an air filter, vinyl stickers, fire extinguisher, seat covers and a couple of neon lights poorly mounted to the console hump, then I need to go to the meets he's going to and enter my Maxima. I could take Best of Show with those tasteless judges!!!

Did anyone notice the "DO NOT TOUCH" card by the battery? Also stock Kia stereo FTL!!!

All in all...

I was wondering the same thing about the trophy. Those stickers are absolutely horrible.

I'm pretty sure that car minus all the stickers and neon crap is a factory option car. There is a black one sitting at the Kia dealer a couple of blocks away. Ehh I guess to each his own?

im sad to say that yes...he DID win these trophies! at my last show, they split my class into two separate classes. i took 2nd in class 20.....and he placed FIRST in 20A!!! WTF?? but at least at the show from these pics, i placed 3rd and knocked him out of rankings! i was beaten by 2 garage kept cars, so i think i did pretty well considering mine is a daily driver!

Kinda makes you wonder about the car shows and their qualifications, doesn't it? I bet I could buy a car new (flawless paint, body, and interior), slap on some seat/steering wheel covers, add some rims, neon, and an air filter and win a trophy! Oh wait, that's already been done it seems...

It's saddening, in a way. Perhaps I'm alone in this, but I would actually like to see a Korean car "done up right". I'm used to seeing hot American, Japanese, and European cars. I've only seen one really nice Korean ride (it was some KDM Hyundai, maybe a Sonata or Elantra, with very VIP style modding; it was, dare I say it, Korean hawtness!).

Thankies. Some decent Tibbies there, though I'm not the biggest fan of Lambo/scissor doors.

I think at one time we all went through the ricer phase. It's like puberty. I know when I bought my 97 CL many moons ago, lowered it, and put Chrome 17's on it, I thought it looked as good as my buddy's 800hp 95 turbo Supra. I just hope he grows out of it.

Nothing wrong with a few tasteful stickers, but if youre sporting Mopar, Nismo, and VTEC on the same car, youre a moron.

i know...absolutley no sense what-so-ever. apparently, the shows around here judge on overall cleanliness of the car. the cleanest car wins. his car is brand new, so no road rash and key scratches yet. and i think your out of luck about waiting for him to "grow-up," this guy is like 30 yrs old and brings about 4-5 skater kids with him and his trophies to every show!! what a loser, besides how does all that **** fit in a kia?? oh yeah, i did feel kinda bad taking pics of his car. i mean, i know he prolly thought i was admiring it but i knew what i was going to use them for...LMAO

This is not too bad, as far as flaming goes. Plus "Kia Man" will probably never see this thread.
