Alright, I finally sat down in my 240, did some extensive driving, and decided to put down every little noise that bothers me and that I can't figure out. So here they go:
1) When the clutch is engaged, the car is moving and in gear, but I'm not pressing the accelerator, there is always a slight whine coming from under the car (somewhere in the driveline). As soon as you either
A) Disengage the clutch (press the pedal)B) Apply Acceleration (press the gas pedal)
The whine stops. What the hell is this????
2) Engaging 5th gear and accelerating at anywhere from 52-57 there is a loud, low, thudding type noise/vibration throughout the cabin. It's as if someone just started rolling on a really really low drum for about two seconds. What is this???
3) Every time I engage second gear I can hear some sort of thunk or click or something all the way down the driveline. This is more apparent under accelleration, but noticeable at a dead stop too. Should this happen?
4) Every time I drop the clutch I can almost hear a loud THUNK in the differential, or somewhere around there. My diff has close to 200K on it (had to get one from an older car when mine blew) but it really shouldn't do that as long as it has fluid, right?
Tell me if there is any way to fix any of these noises that you know of, besides Dynamat
