So I bought this OBX 8:1 fmu, but it comes with threaded fittings.

At the autoparts they sell fittings that are male-threaded on one side (to replace the one that came with the fmu) and barbed on the other end so I can fit the fuel hoses.

Now one of the fittings is a 90 degree angle fitting that seems to have been screwed in before assembly, so in order to unscrew it the FMU has to be taken apart, because it will not clear the body of the fmu to unscrew. On top of that the thread is messed up, so I can't put one of those female-female adapters...

Looks like the only way would be to open up the fmu and then replace the 90degree fitting, but I don't want to open it if it has calibrated parts or springs that have special assembly inside or something.

anyone ever opened one?

Vortech has a .pdf with a diagram that shows a FMU that's opened up.http://www.vortechsupercharger...nents

Edit: It's the FMU Recalibration one.

I ran into the same issue when I had an FMU and used one of these:

Thanks for the link. Yeah, just what I thought.... you can't disassemble the lower part, but that's the one that I would need to take apart to unscrew the fitting.

Someone just gave me an idea... "cut the part of the fitting that hits since you are not going to use that fitting anyways, duh" , can't believe I didn't think of that, lol

I'll do that and then use a fitting similar to the one ghx posted (in my case it has to be male though)

Thanks for you help guys.
