Is this too good to be true? 1200$ for a sr20det shipped to your door within 2 weeks?

Has anyone heard of these guys? Im happy I dont have money right now so I am forced to be patient, so I can come and ask you guys about this company. I have heard about so many scams and horror stories, I just dont want to end up writing one on here my self.

The free shipping part seems to make it BS to me. Thats like <$900 a motor. There in VA, call them and ask if you can pick it up if your close.

which makes me wonder bout the free shipping.. but anyways you get to visually see and check out the engine and if it meets ur approval, you could pick it up right then... thats why it would take 2 weeks...

This is what you get with the SR engine. I see a LOT missing. So maybe they're legit in that they'll give you a motor, transmission, etc, but you can't install it the way they give it to you. Better to spend 3K and get a clip with everything in it.

Thats actually a decent price for stripped motor with transmission, but still a very bad idea if your on a budget. For example, getting the ECU and Wire harness to run it will cost you an extra $5-600. Buy that and your swap will nickle and dime you to death.

well I belive that they might just put the same list of stuff that comes with the motor for all motors? I dont know I could be wrong, but that could explain this confusion.

Anyways, Im not going to go with them, Ill just save up. Id rather not have to learn the hard way.

They are not a honda-tech sponsor. That board is pretty picky when it comes to who they like to import motors from. Too many honda guys get ripped off.

If you want something close then go with someone that J-Spec Tuner mentioned. There is also a shop I got my front clip from called cardinal performance. They are also out of GA and offer a great product. I didn't have to buy anything(except fluids) to do my swap.

I have about 10 people I personally know who have brought honda motors from japanstarmotor.com. They went to the warehouse and got to pick the motor of their choice. All of which had nothing but good stuff to say about this place, very clean, and nice guys to deal with. I also have a friend who had a sr redtop shipped to his house in virginia beach and got it within a week.

this is japanstarmotor.com in VA I'm talking about.

Beware of japanstarmotors.com in SC this place seems very shady, their site is identical to the one in VA, and I have tried to call the one in SC main number was not in service and when I called the fax number some guy picked up and said I had the wrong number and that he has had that number for years.
