My discovery happened 3 months ago when i found out I had a lock on my glovebox

and last night I noticed the rearview mirror has this switch on the bottom of it that basically dims it at night, i went bonkers.

OH and reading the brochure 2 months ago i realized the mirrors are also heated when the defrost is on for the rear window

the list goes on....and on...
yeah in the manuel it shows that the credit card key and one other key wont open that. there is a master key that unlocks it its the only one of the three. i keep one of my ipods in there and a playstation 2 so i thought that was pretty cool

To dig up an old thread... today I learned what the rear wind deflectors are actually for: keeping the water mist, sprayed by your tires on wet roads and then sucked up by the vacuum behind your vehicle, from accumulating on your rear glass. The deflector, well, deflects the airflow above your vehicle downwards, like a force field protecting the glass. Not having a rear deflector, I've always had to rely on my rear wiper, which I find is always shoddy at best.

I got curious when I saw two threads about rear deflectors on the first page of the forum today; I always thought it was a ricer accessory and not actually useful. Unfortunately, in those threads I also learnt that these things are next to impossible to find; so even though I want one now I doubt I'll find one.

You can toggle the horn chirp when the truck locks by pressing and holding both lock and unlock buttons.

The "BRAKE" light on the instrument cluster illuminates when your brake fluid is approaching, at, or below the minimum line of the master cylinder, and will stay on until fluid is added!

NEAT RIGHT?!

Yep, so when you lock it with the fob you can switch between "horns + lights flashing" and "lights flashing" mode.

When I was in a apartment complex that was just a bunch of 12-suite buildings in a circle with a parking lot in the middle, I turned off the horn because I figured nobody really needed to hear it twice a day. But now that I have my own garage, noise pollution isn't a big issue so I turned the horn back on.

I didn't know how to turn my brights on until 6 months after I started driving the PF. True story.

if you take off the headrests and slide the front seats forward and recline them all the way down, the rear seats turn into luxury beds.

Saw it in the Japanese owners manual for the nissan terrano regulus (qx4)

something like this

I tried the reclining-seat-bed last night, and was pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, as a 6'3" guy there's no way I'd be able to sleep in that. But maybe a kid could?

I'm short and I could probably sleep on it with my feet hitting the bottom of the steering wheel. But it still might be better than sprawling out on the back seat or sleeping in the trunk with the rear seats folded.

Hmm... double-checking, it looks like it *doesn't* say in the manual that rolling up the windows is supported. Which is really weird to me... why let us roll them down with the remote but not up?
OMG I had no idea? I hope my 2001 QX has this for some strange reason other than the cool factor.

I had a 98 QX4, after at least 2 years I had no idea that the back seats reclined. All of my friends are over 6 feet and I know I bumped some heads back there until I figured this out.

And I love on my 01 QX4 how you can control the headlight pitch. I use this all the time in the fast lane when your grandma's doing 60 in the 65 MPH. People MOVE out the way when their entire car is lit up from the Xenon blues.

How the heck do you get your rear seats to recline?! I know how to fold em down, but most def. not recline! :wtf2:

Use the same lever on the side that you use when you fold them down. The only caveat I've found is that you can't move it directly from folded down to reclined. If they're already folded down, then you pull lever -> move to upright -> release lever -> pull lever again -> push back to recline.

On my '01, the rear seat back is normally folded down, and the rear seat cushions are in a cabinet in the garage. This gives me
more space to haul dive gear. There's a nice little dent in the side of the rear seat back that will hold a bottle of wine so it doesn't
roll around.
