So besides modding my car, my other interest is in event planning. Parties of all sorts. I wanna start small just because I'm just starting out, so I'll be focusing more on parties like birthdays, graduation, house warming, etc. I am planning on providing my services for free in exchange for recommendations and pictures to include in my portfolio.

If anyone on here has any suggestions, or tips on where to go from here. It will be greatly appreciated. Also if there are any people that are interested in my services, feel free to contact me and we'll set something up.

I am located in the LA/OC County are. More towards the border of both counties. :)

Once again, this service will be FREE and any recommendations to friends and family will be greatly appreciated!

Real Mature

I posted this topic under the impression that fellow NICO member would help out. Not so immature people can post stupid things.

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

People actually pay someone to plan parties? Like, housewarmings?

Crazy white folk.

Lol..I'm not white..but yeah people get planners when they have too much on their plate to handle, if they don't wanna pay attention to the detail, or even if they just don't have goo planning/organizational skills and need a second pair of eyes.

it's not uncommon for businesses throwing parties to use planners or s*** like that.

It's kind of like hiring out a manager for the night. You still own the place but pay someone to worry about the logistics.

I could still demand there be more crabs in the pool, but just not have to worry about getting the crabs in the pool.

That..is a pretty long drive..:( I wish I could..but I don't have the money to pay for a place to stay or anything (depending on how long I would be staying). that's why I was looking for a gig a little bit more local 'til I can build up some experience and start earning money. Then I could start travelling a bit and doing gigs

Not crazy at all. Think on a bigger scale. Conventions, large meetings, weddings, bar mitzvahs, aniverseries, big reunions, lectures, etc...

There are a lotta things that go into planning and then execution. If it's an important enough event, you'd want someone that knows what they're doing to make it all come together on time, on budget and then operate it smoothly.

Good luck.

Both my college roommates majored in event planning. Though one is struggling to find a job, the other is working for the Cleveland Cavs now planning their parties/events. She also interned at a resort in the Carolinas, the Cleveland Indians, and planned events for a travel bureau in a nearby city... They've never tried a private business, but I think it's neat, good luck!
