Starting with 2013 model years, most of Nissan's lineup is equipped with an EDR. The data these things collect is interesting in that they can assist in accident investigation either screwing you over or helping you win a case. They don't "track" you in the sense that it knows where you're going. Take a look at the article and let me know what you think...

The fact is that these boxes have nothing to do with anything other than $$$ for insurance companies. Also, that line of thinking is dangerous and stupid, IMO.

Hm. Interesting that all Nissan models for 2012 have it except for the Z and GT-R. The Z is included in 2013, though.

Think I will hang on to my 2010 to keep big brother from breathing down my neck ;)

Apparently 84 Skylines are not equipped with this. WIN!

Eventually, if this becomes prevalent, older cars will be required to be "upgraded" with this crap or be barred from the road.
