Car: installing stereo systems and minor performance upgrades

Post

Even though i just bought a set of wheels like a month ago, I aquired some new wheels, tires, and spring/shock combos off of a parts car i just bought. Spent this weekend sanding down the oxidated chrome plating off the 15's and repainting them graphite, and was able to put on the front set of shocks and springs. I'm not sure what brand the wheels are but they look pretty nice. Teamed up with the Fulda assuro 205/60/15 wheels they fill the wheel wells pretty nicely. The shocks are J-Sport 5way adjustable by Tokico and unsure of the springs. Whatever brand they are they dropped the car hard i'm guessing almost 2inches. Hope i don't run into blowing out shocks left and right.

With just the front lowered it give the 240 almost a muscle car agressive stance. I'm thinking about keeping the lowering springs off the back and just putting the adjustable shock with the oem springs. So does anybody know what brand the springs are, and possibly the wheels. I checked the backs of the wheels and couldn't find anything specific to a model or brand just width and offset.

Looks nice, I'm not sure on the brand either. What year car did they come off of?

The parts car is a 96 240sx, they're a +36 offset if that helps narrow down a brand.

if those lowering springs have decently high rates, your front will be so much stiffer than your rear...that can't be good. I'd guess you would get a lot of understeer from a setup like htat.

I've got no real idea what brand the springs are the past owner thinks they were neuspeed. took the car to work with just the fronts installed everythign was cool till about 70mph then i realized i need an alignment lol.

Might want to consider putting the rear springs on as well... with the car tilted forward there is more weight being put on the front, further unbalancing the F:R weight.

Almost all springs will come as a "tuned set" that will give close to neutral handling, usually with a hint of understeering. Go through any fast corners with a bad setup and you will lose traction easily.

As said previously take any sharp corner + speed with your setup now and you will have massive understeer. It wont be noticable in daily driving but if you care more about looks than having good handling.... well thats your choice...

i put the rears on the other day and had the car aligned and wheels balanced. I love the way it handles, can definatly feel how much more nimble the steering is and seems like it grips the road better on turns. I'll get afew pictures up of the car fully lowered in acouple days.
