1. How does one upgrade a 1991 Q to accept the factory alarm system from a newer Q with remote keyless entry? Ugh, I hate using the key, damn lazy lawyer that I am. Please tell me this is a simple matter of replacing the alarm computer with a newer one from the junkyard and simply locating some remotes!

2. Does the Q45 exhaust system consist of dual exhaust like the J that simply comes back to one muffler at the rear of the car? If so, then a dual muffler system can work? IE there are moutnings on both sides of the vehicle? Would this improve performance, sound? I just thought that dual pipes from the rear of my Q would look excellent.

As always, thanks (you guys rock!)

1) No clue - Somebody HELP!

2) Q has dual exhaust off headers, into 2 seperate cats and 2 seperate resonators (mufflers), all the way to the rear where it dumps into a very free-flow muffler.

Problem with duals? You only have one cutout in the bumper - of course, that could be remedied but would cost $$$. No real performance gain to be had though.

1. you could always get an aftermarket setup...... No need to use the infinti one...... Get one of those ones with the nifty remote start built in!!!! (ultimate laziness :drooling )

2. I agree with hitman

Time to step it up to new G35 coupe so here goes...

See below for pics of my car, and I have many more thru email.

This is a 1991 Q45 with 125k. The car is immaculate inside and out, having been in San Diego its entire life, and only one owner before me. The original owner was 80 years old, had every service and repair done at Infiniti of Carlsbad (of which I have every receipt since 1991), and the car has never been hit, no rust, not even a scratch or mark.

I have had the car for one year and drove it from So Cal to NY in early April. I have made some upgrades to the car including 18 inch Enkei rims and 245/40/18 rubber all around. I have installed the white gauge faces, modified the interior shifter bezel to accept a newer 94-96 factory rosewood trim piece, and I have replaced the Q stereo with a nwere 1997 BOSE head unit with the CD/tape combo. I also have replaced all four speaker units and they are still under warranty. New brakes 3,000 miles ago.

The TIMING CHAIN GUIDES have not yet been as best as I can tell, but other than that cost, this car needs absolutely nothing. The interior is flawless (there are more pics listed in one of my posts) and the car is so classy looking that most people assume it is a 98 or newer (not those here of course)

I am willing to take 4500 for the car, which I think is fair considering the custom upgrades and need for the guide repair. The car is carfax certified, and I know there i snot a cleaner Q out there for this money.

Hope someone is interested so my baby can go to good home, and FYI, the car is still in NY.

Jamie
