I've been searching and haven't found too much. Basically evap can be lot's of things, and i wanted to see if there is anyway to rule them out. i've gotten a new gas cap so i don't think that's the issue. i've looked around the behind the cap area but it looks like the lines are rapped in plastic and didn't look rusty.
I also thought maybe it's the exhaust because it's really rusty and looks like it may have rusted through. in the video after i look at the muffler i shot some video of the fuel filter, i replaced it months ago but the stock one didn't have an arrow and i got one from the nissan dealer and i'm pretty sure i installed it how the last one looked maybe someone can confirm that (could be a fuel pressure issue then). after that i go to check the fuel lines by the gas tank because i thought i smell gas sometime when i exit and go toward the rear hatch. but idk how to cut that bit out of the video.

Now if i do replace the charcoal canister is there any special procedure or just pull and put back? ie. do i need to pull the lines leading up to it so i don't get more stuff in the canister or will i be ok just putting in the new one. i really don't want to drop around $200 for a new canister and then fill it up with more carbon.
any other system or common areas i can check for this code?

Which specific code(s) do you have? If you have P1444, see this thread for a possible workaround.

ooo. I thought i put that in there. I keep on getting code P0440 and keep on clearing the code with the Torque app. not sure if it's of any significance, but the check engine light pops up while driving. I haven't noticed any specific driving conditions but usually in motion i'll notice the light pop on.

^^ That post is awesome, i would have never thought about putting a fuel filer inline with the system to catch the carbon. but doesn't that still mean that he's burning up something incorrectly.

I think this is unrelated to my evap code and may need to start a new post. but lately the gas pedal has been really hard and solid like it doesn't want to budge and it require me to really step on it, then it jumps forward. it's ok when it's in motion and after a few times it's gone away and came back. it's kinda embarrassing when i'm on a stop light line and it gets loud and jumps forward as if i really stepped on the gas and was trying to race the person next to me. i'm extra careful when someone is infront so i don't hit them. it rolls fine without my foot on the gas or brake but then when i have to move i can't just give it a little gas the pedal go from 0% to 30-40% then i can let it come back to 10% pressed down.
Could that be related because of a vacuum line issue?

There are so many potential causes for P0440. If you've ruled out your gas cap by replacing it with a new OEM cap, I would start by trying to follow the diagnostic procedure from page EC-373 of the FSM as best as you can.

Try cleaning your throttle body as well, it may have significant carbon build up which can inhibit the movement of the throttle plate or even cause it to stick. Use throttle body cleaner spray only. If possible, remove the throttle body for a more thorough cleaning. Be sure to obtain a new throttle body gasket if you take it off.
You can also try to adjust the accelerator and cruise wires (FE-3 and EL-193 respectively) and grease the accelerator pedal's return spring with any NLGI No. 2 lithium soap base grease (see the diagram on FE-3 for details). The adjustment is probably a good idea to get rid of any slack in the pedal that may have accumulated after 13 years of service.

I need to scan the FSM better, i've been looking for weeks and missed that section completely. Towncivilian you are a lifesaver!
looks like i've got quite a bit of work ahead of me.
And just my luck! i bought throttle body cleaner after reading people cleaning theirs and was going to do it as preventative maintenance.
the accelerator wires are definitely loose i've been wondering how to tighten them and have been coming up with some creative ideas. hahaha i like the factory way much better.
!!!!!!! Thanks again !!!!!!!
