Evap system?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

I have a 97 240 KA24DEJust wondering if anyone has removed the fuel evap system?I know it will throw a code but any other dowsides to doing so?Yes I searched.

do you mean that charcoal canister?

other downside... you'll smell fuel vapor for sure when the car sitting still, not as bad when it's moving.. you might want to relocate it instead next to the fuel tank if it was in the engine bay...

i removed mine with no smells. the vapor tends to build up in the tank. very noticable when taking the cap off to refill. i may have a blocked line though. engine bay is a little less cluttered.

eddiec did you remove all the lines from the manifold, the four under neath and the one that connects to the pcv valve?

no. i didnt' remove them completely, just capped the ones for the charcaol canister and aiv. eventually i may remove them, just haven't got to it yet.

I have a S13 and removed all the little rubber hoses and the evap. Like it was said above, pressure just build in the tank and you notice it when you remove the fuel cap.

Only rubber hose I have left runs from the intake manifold to the FPR. Then I have the brake, IAC and valve cover hoses. Thats it.
