The plugs you have can't be repaired? That would be my first choice. Then replacement. If un-sourceable, a generic 8 pin male and female connector could be installed which is slightly better than splicing all together permanently. That is, unless the sensor is part of the plug. Also, Wiring Specialties may make that particular plug (they make lots of plugs) so call them to ask. Too bad it's hard to access it all. Typical of engine bays...
