I'm throwing a code that says my EVAP Canisster Control Valve is stuck open and could be the cause of either a broken solenoid or EVAP sensor. Could this be a problem due to a malfunctioning O2 sensor at all? My O2 sensor gave up on me a while back. How could I test which part i need to replace?

The O2 sensor and Evaporative systems are unrelated. You might just have a leak in the tank system or it may actually be the valve.

your better off replacing the whole thing it sounds like its crapping out any ways. I'd go to auto zone and see how much it would cost to replace the whole evap unit, it shouldn't cost too much.

I don't know if its called the charcoal canister. I'll go check how much the whole evap unit costs in the next week or so, I have finals coming up.

Well the charcoal canister is the EVAP canister i think but my problem is that its stuck open. I don't think I have to replace the canister itself, but I might need to replace the valve/solenoid and maybe the sensor and give the canister a clean.

so the code you threw was for the control valve solenoid... because the canister doesn't have the solenoid on it or in it. it works on a diaphragm system instead. its somewhere on your engine close to the bbt valve and egr valve if you follow on of the vacuum line you'll come acrross it.

i cont know though you have a 98 so maybe they changed the egr system again im only really familiar with the ka24e and ka24de for 1989-1996.
