These are for the spring, when I don't need the winter tires anymore.

Haven't figured out what rubber I'm going to put on 'em yet.

And yes, I will be procuring a set of TPMS sensors from West Covina Nissan so I don't have an obnoxious yellow light.

Registering is probably a lot easier/cheaper than paying to unmount/remount tires every year.

Bad Idea...

It looks good off the car, but I guarantee you that you will be disappointed...

I wouldn't normally say anything, but this particular set of wheels would look awkward on a versa because the visible spokes are just too few and thin on the rather large rear end and front facia on the Versa!

Might I suggest a few...

ENKEI J10[/quote]Not saying there is specifically anything wrong with Enkei wheels, but the more and more I see of them the less and less desire I have to put them on my own vehicle. I guess i just don't like having more than 8 spokes.

Besides, whatever happened to "it's all a matter of personal taste"? I happened to want a wheel with a FULL machined face, not just a machined lip. The final list was 5 different models, including an OEM Kia rim.

Rims are 100% a matter of personal choice. I like the ones you have picked out. They should look sharp on the Versa.

I wouldn't normally say anything, but it would seem that most of the wheels you listed and even the style you chose to put on your car don't even meet your design standards.

I didn't mean to come off as a jackass here, merely offer alternatives since I know a few people who tried the black/chrome style and didn't like it...

If you didn't like any of those, I'm sorry

just thought I'd offer a few thoughts...

Actually, the wheels i suggested use a different style technique in that they have a finish that shows the FULL width of the spoke, and the style actually fit the body lines of the car by not jutting inwards in the center, but rather stand out and curve in, giving it a small lip which offset the large rear of the hatch!

Actually, that wheel I showed is a color variant of what I got. I couldn't find a picture of the actual SILVER ones that I bought (not black). And the only chrome on the wheels is on the center caps. The faces are brushed, not chromed.

The wheels are okay. Not too bad. I'll need to see them on the V.

How much longer before you receive them and they're installed so we can see pics? Did you decide on a tire yet? Just curious. Also, pardon my ignorance, but does registering the new TMPS sensors require dis-mounting the tire anyway? I have absolutely no idea of the process, but if I had to guess I would think it's something like a bluetooth headset where you have to activate a mode on the sensor before the car will recognize them. Do you know how this works, because I was thinking of using two sets of wheels myself (not for winter tires, rather for when I visit my parents house out in the middle of no-where so that I wont damage my new wheels once I get them).

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't look nice. I like that you went with the Konig brand as I think they have one of the best product lines around. I have been very happy with mine.

By the way, what size will you be getting?

Also, I have to agree with you about the asymmetrical wheels. I don't really like Enkei wheels that much either.

I don't yet know how to re-register the TMPS sensors, but when I get them put on I will ask Discount Tire how difficult it is and if there are any special tools required.

I actually had already picked up the wheels the day I posted this. My local Discount Tire had a set in stock, on clearance. The TPMS sensors should be on order with WCN right now. I won't be picking out the tires until spring when I get them mounted... so think around late march or early april will be when I get them put on and can get pics.

The Reasons are made in only one size... 17x7 with both 4x100 and 4x114.3 bolt patterns.

would we be able to have the TPMS sensor remove entirely? because it now become an issue of changing the orginal equipment. because i can get a decent tire and rim packages deal, but to try to add in the TPMS sensor after that fact, would kill the budget.

I'm looking at 4 wheels, 4 tires, and 4 TPMS sensors... with mounting, balance, re-registration, and our insane 8.9% sales tax, for under $1k when all is said and done.

You can certainly put on a set of wheels and tires with no TPMS sensors, but your light will be on constantly. Because of design requirements, the TPMS system cannot be disabled.

Firstly, what is it with some people coming in here just to bash? Some people should know better. As for the wheels, personally I'm not a fan of 7 spoke rims. BUT these could look pretty good on the car, I've found some wheels look great on their own but look awful on some cars and vice versa.

You certainly can remove the sensor entirely, but you'll just have the annoying low pressure indicator light on all the time. If you're talking about replacing your wheels permanently, just have them install the existing TPMS sensors in the new wheels, which won't even require re-registering new sensors. I don't know if you planned on having a second set of wheels, but in SD you don't need winter tires. EV is running a second set of wheels - one for the summer and one for the winter with seperate TMPS sensors in each set so he doesn't have to get the tires dismounted and remounted on two sets of wheels twice a year.

Thank you for this. This is an example of how you can disagree with someone's selection and not bash them.

We'll see how they look. The wheel I really wanted was an 8-spoke (and they were beefy spokes too, NY) but availability of them was... shall we say, limited.

Still, for the money, I can't really argue with what I got.

Jfanaselle - yup, that's exactly what I'm doing. I'm far enough north and make trips over mountain passes that the nasty winter weather is made safer with a set of dedicated snow tires. Those are currently on my stock SL alloys. What I choose for summer is up in the air. I'm probably not going to go too agressive (cost and treadwear issues) but right now I'm leaning towards a set of 215/45-17's, probably BF Goodrich g-Force Sports. Not the most aggressive tire, but also not something that will wear out after only 20,000 miles.
