I'm considering these (Y33). In regards to lowering, will any other components have to be replaced to keep an alignment on the car? Am looking at the Bilstein units to replace the stock ones when the lowering is done.

Thanks...Lewis

You can get a pretty decent alignment with these springs. Rear is the only issue and you can get control arms if you dont want to run more than -2* camber, which isnt that much IMHO (not enough to cause unusual tire wear)

Well, with my Eibachs on the FGY33, -2.5° which did not help Direzza DZ101. I will be going to SPL RUCA as soon as they receive the revised clamping nut.

I used to have Eibach's on my 97 Q. Eibach is a great springs but it didn't sit as low as I wanted and didn't lowered that much at all. Looked almost stock comparing to other sedan's.

Now I have Espelir ESN149 with KYB SR and it sit's 3/4 of an inch lower than the Eibach's. Now the Q looks lowered with balanced clean drop.

In my overall experience with Espelir ride and responsive is smoother than the Eibach's due to being a linear springs rather than the progressive type springs. Plus I didn't have any alignment issues comparing to the previous Eibach set up. I'm very picky about the ride quality and I highly recommend the Espelir springs.

Exactly why I love them, along with increased spring rate. With broken in KYB SR Specails, great ride and no fear of sloped entryways or speed bumps.

Still have to buy RUCA to restore rear camber to OEM specification. Now -2.5°

Stock rate is 2.63Kg/mm and 2.20Kg/mm for the G50, so that's about twice as stiff?

Q45:257 lb/in front and 234 lb.in rear is 52.3%/ 47.7% roll stiffness ratio but then again kg/mm should have 2 decimal places not one to show 1 lb resolution.

Shocks are speced at a standard case/fluid temperature since the viscosity changes significantly with temperature so what works/lasts ok cold will feel worn out and weak in extreme Summer or rapid cycling conditions. Why real shocks have external fluid tanks and radiators to minimize temp rise.

When you substitute springs the front sway bar will contribute less [% gain] and springs more in a roll. So the built in understeer will be less so a rear sway will be less effective also.

All about front rear roll stiffness ratios.
