Just installed a Stealth Cord for my 9500i on my 2003 M45. Works great and no more damn wires dangling.

Only functionality that I lost was the mute button on the old cord but this unit auto mutes after a certain time anyway.

Took me 2 minutes to install.

you actually worked it into the power from the mirror. very clean., so now you have the photo block plate and the escort. You are officially radar/camera proof!

It's so simple, the wires actually squeeze into their respected voltage plug in, in the stock harness. I just need to use the small black zip tire that came with it to hold it in place a little firmer.

So yea my stealth plate and my radar is good to go, since they turned the dang speed cameras back on in town.

BTW, I don't care what other forums are saying, that particular plate cover I have works. The 35 bucks it cost has saved me 100's from those damn cameras. You will get flashed going 6 miles over.

Nice job. Interestingly, I just had my Escort 9500 hard-wired by Best Buy. All functions work. They connected to ignition for $29 and remove it for free when you sell the car. The quote to install from Infiniti dealer - $220! They claimed 2 hours of labor. Funny, since I have done all my previous cars in 30 mins or less. I never had connected to the mirror like you did. Great idea.

Stealthcords.com

Best $15 buck spent. I think they only work for Escort radar detectors or ones that have the phone jack type plug in. I think it's caleld RJ40 or something.

The install looks great!

Thanks for the great testimony...we might just have to add that to our website.

We REALLY appreciate the positive feedback!

It's called the Super Protector.

I'm not going to endorse where to buy since there might be a Nico Sponsor who sells them that I do not know about. Just do a quick Google search.

I love my StealthCord.

Running without one is just WAY too 80's.

Jeff, your site is cool - Might have to hit you up for some side work (if you're willing).

Jeff, you may want to send him e-mail too ... Greg is pretty busy with running the site and does not always see these posts!

Just installed these cords on my QX56 and new G37 to work with my Passport 9500ix. Works as advertised and installed both in less than 5 minutes! Saves about $200 and time required to go to CarToys.

Also, if you decide to buy this for your G37, make sure you ask them for the cord with the smaller prongs...the one they recommend for G35 does NOT work for new G37. Second set they sent worked well...

I'm using it w/ my V1. Cheaper than an extra hardwire kit from the manufacturer and it could be used with other similar powered mirrors.

I recall searching and finding a coupon code for 10% off

The coupon code is "nicoclubsponsor" for 10%.

I have tried blendmount before (both long and short) versions but have to return them as it triggers false laser alerts on my 9500ix. The closer the RD to the RVM for some reason causes it and it's very annoying.

You are only protected from radar, Red light cams, speed cams by your 9500i. How about laser protection. Once your hit and you RD alerts you to laser, the LEO already has your speed in less than a second. And that means a hefty ticket.

Do you remove your RD when your park in the open? Your location is very easy to see from the outside for thieves to smash your window and steal them. I moved mine high on the driver side at the tinted part of the wind shield. I can flip the visor to hide them when I leave my car in the open so thieves won't see it easily.

Laser protection is a joke with radar detectors. Once a LEO has a bead on you (they usually aim for your licence plate or bumper), it is too late anyway. They only way you would pick up laser is if it bounced off a car ahead of you or around you. If a LEO has a bead on you, on your bumper, your detector still isn't going to pick it up until it reflects off and it's too late by that time. I have tested this mounting the detector in different locations with the same results.

I never had the false laser issues. Although the intelligent cruise control on Infiniti's will set it off.

I have no issues with thieves. Car is always garaged and if I go somewhere, I simply remover the RD and take it with me.

NO different from instant on radar threats {the most popular type} with laser or radar, you always need traffic ahead of you to take the hit and provide you with an advanced warning.
