Yesterday my neighbor asked me to jump start his car for him and today when I started on my car I saw a weird error on my dashboard. The error shows a battery that 3/4 colored and with a key on top of the battery. I put my smart key into the slot and the message disappeared. Can anyone tell me what this message is?

Low battery on your remote. You need to get a new battery

Yes, your I-key is powered by a small battery. The display is telling you that the battery is getting weak and needs to be changed. The correct battery is a coin-style battery, type CR2032. To change it, remove the manual key from the fob, then gently pry apart the two halves from the end the key came out of right at the center of the fob. Change the battery and reassemble.

I have heard of batteries dying in less than a year and some that are still going strong after 18 months.

This is a Nissan conspiracy!

So many Nissans are going off with this signal at the same time.

The list continues to grow. My car, Ricky's car, this person's car, and my even my manager's sedan.

That's because coupe fobs are higher performance and use more battery power... j/k.
