you need this link:

check out the How-To's.

Bank 1, Sensor 1 means; the front exhaust manifold and the 1st O2 sensor.

this O2 sensor is mounted in the exhaust manifold, and can easily be done yourself

sorry it took so long to check back.

bank 1 sensor 1 is sku# 22690-0008 Front Driver Side O2 Sensor

the easiest to replace i believe!!

before you remove the O2 sensor douse it with PB Blaster, or WD40 to loosen the threads.

I don't listen to my own advice: don't fix it if it aint broke. Why don't you replace the one and see how it runs? You might need an oxygen sensor removal socket, I think 7/8" box wrench will work too, but you'll have to cut the connector. I also had to get an 18mm thread chaser which was worth the $8.

I went to a local auto parts store and they wanted about $90 for the sensor. I also did some searching on google and found some cheap sensors from $20 from a company called "Replacement". These sensors come without connectors. I am not sure which one I need... The three or four wire sensor.

I would probably stay away from the universal O2 sensors. They are too much trouble. Just get an OE fit sensor and life will be good.

stay away from the universal 02 sensors...in my opinion. get the OEM replacement from Kragen or Pepboys. $90 isn't bad...they are usually over $100.just replace the one 02 sensor, and see what happens after that.

I've had almost everybody tell me also not to use universal O2 sensors. I got Bosch universal sensors which came with little nylon compression connectors. I think my sensors have teflon insulation and stainless steel wires. I've tried to solder these wires together in the past with bad results. I got universal sensors to save $$$$$$ they are much cheaper. My Maxima manual has various tests for voltage that can be done.
