I recently had diagnostic scan done on my JDM 06 Nissan Tiida Hatchback (same as Versa). The following codes came up even though CEL was not coming on instrument panel;
P0715 - Input speed senor
P0615 - Starter relay circuit
P1723-CVT speed sensor
Error codes were erased and did not reappear after rescanning. Can anyone explain what may have caused these soft codes and is there any need for concern since CEL never came on? Vehicle has HR15 engine with CVT @ 22000 km. I would also like to know what is best brand engine oil to use between dino and synthetic & change interval.

fir the codes give it a week or so re scan the cpu and if the codes reappear take to dealer for complete diagnosis.

As for which oil to use I believe you engine is a Diesel so the recommended oil for it would be 15W-40 Mobil synthetic diesel oil.

Thanks for ur reply but the engine is not diesel but HR15 gas with CVT. Do you know when it is recommended to change CVT oil. I am @ 22000Km and when the dip stick was pulled it looked very clear.

The service guide isn't too clear on this. For Schedule 1 service (most common, I'd guess, and what we use), it does says to inspect it every every 15,000 miles (24,000 km), and that "Using transaxle fluid other than Genuine NISSAN CVT Fluid NS-2 will damage the CVT, which is not covered by the NISSAN new vehicle limited warranty."

It also says, "If towing a trailer, using a camper or car–top carrier, or driving on rough or muddy roads, replace the fluid/oil every 60,000 miles (~96,000 km) or 48 months."

But when you look at the actual schedule, the Premium Maintenance Schedule says to replace it every 30,000 miles (48,000 km), but the Schedule 1(and 2) never show anything other than inspecting it. Based on the towing/rough/muddy roads comment above, we've had ours replaced at 90,000 miles (144,000 km) and never had problems.

I was told that the Carman Scantool is capable of giving the milleage on your vehicle. This is a good feature since people sometimes change instrument panel or roll back mileage before selling vehicle. I had scan done with hand held carman scantool on my Tiida however it was only able to give tripometer mileage and not actual mileage of vehicle. Can anyone confirm if this tool can really give this info and what model ?
