Hello,

I got the SES light this morning. I used my OBD2 to get the error code. There was just 1 code P1121. I erased the code and then turned on and off the ignition few times and the SES light has not turned on yet.

A little bit of research shows that P1121 code has got to do with the 'Throttle Body". Do I have to get it cleaned or replaced? I understand that replacing it might be an expensive affair. My 2003 G35 4D Sedan has 85K miles on it.

Is there a recommended interval for throttle body cleaning or changing? Have I skipped something critical?

Thanks in advance!

I don't recommend cleaning it...the butterfly valve motor is VERY sensitive. Try and reset the ECU and see if it was a one-time event.

Thanks for your reply :)

I reset the ECU, worked fine for 2 days and this morning I got the SES light again. I have reset it again.

Here are my questions.

1. Do I have to replace the throttle body? How much would this cost? I was considering taking it to my local mechanic to have it cleaned. I read a few posts online that it helped some other G owners get rid of the error code for good.

2. I also read a few guys use the fuel injector cleaner along with a full tank of gas and that helped. Do you recommend I do that?

3. I have always used premium 91 octane and always changed engine oil and filter on or before time. What could probably cause this?

Thanks again!
