error code - P1110 - Intake valve timing control solenoid

will i destroy my engine if i keep driving without taking care of this? it sounds like a fine tuning issue but i'm getting a knocking sound that has been getting worse and worse recently and significant loss of power.

if anyone has a picture of where this solenoid is, it would be greatly appreciated. actually any constructive input would be appreciated.
