erratic timing
erratic timing
I tried to set my timing last night. Followed the FSM, warmed it up reved it turned it off. Dissconected the TPS started it back up and Adj the idle. Put a timing light on it and its very erratic. Jumping from 18 to about 22. It wont stay still, cant adjust the timing. what would cause that? I dont have many vac lines because i JUST removed ALL my egr crap. did a boost leak test, NO leaks.

is this with a stable idle or is your idle jumpy as well?

Mine is liek that too... I got 555cc injectors though no emission no cat Also have my mdm techtom hooked up giving me a reading with rpm as well.. I just set mine to be 20 or 1 degree back by guessing... to be on the safer side... usually every few seconds i'd get like a 5 second smooth spot.... as your tryign to do this rev your enigne by hand a little bit, it might get smoother...

Im also having the same problem, my timing wont hold for crap. Does anyone here know wat can cause this because im kinda lost on what to do?
