Car: mountain biking, always have something to do on one of the cars...always a never ending project

Post

I've got a 1991 240SX SE with almost 26,000 miles (yes....26,000 :D ) Just the other day the coolant temperature gauge decided to get erratic when revving the engine. For some reason it always seems to happen about 2,000 RPM. The gague will show the normal temperature until you rev the engine and it will bounce around between cold and the normal area. The car runs fine and is not overheating so it seems to be an electrical issue. I haven't dug into it yet but I just wanted to ask and see if this has happened to anyone else or is common and can be fixed easily. My first thoughts are a bad sending unit or corroded wires/connection.Any ideas?

Thanks guys!

John
