Hey folks,
could use some help. My 92 300ZX non turbo has a problem with the idle. Very erratic going from 500- 1100 RPM'S. Car only has 41,000 miles. Any help is much appreciated. :frown:

A side question for you, has the timing belt been replaced???

No, but the injectors were changed about a year ago. The throttle positioning sensor was moved a bit due to a loose screw. When I adjust (not with the meter yet) along with the idle screw, I can get it to idle fine. After it has run a while though it starts doing the same thing.

Well, the timing belt isn't the issue with idle. But, the timing belt is 19 yrs old. You seriously need to consider replacing it and doing a 120k kit, Ramey studs for the idler pulleys. If that thing breaks, your idle will not be your issue. Nissan spec is 60k miles OR 48 months...

Replace the water pump along with the timing belt. PCV valves and clean the EGR tubes too.

Check for vacuum leaks.
