heyy whats up.. Finally got the old problems with my car taken care of but now I have a few more. First off, when im driving my car and when im coming to a stop it wants to die. Say im in third and see a light up ahead turn red. I put it in nuetral and when I start getting slow enough it will bog down and stall out. If I downshift and slow down that way it will still bog down really really low and act like its about to stall but will stay running. I know its an idle problem because the car idles low, im guessing. My car still has the SOHC cluster so the tach doesn't work. But it sounds really low and lopey(like a big V8 with aggressive cams) Basically my car sounds like an old V8 hot rod.

Oh yeah and my car is a 90 240 with a red top SR, only mods are MBC, SAFC full turbo back 3" exhaust, K&N, Hard pipes on stock SMIC.

duh forgot to list the other problem..Okay so now when im driving the car..say im taking off and climbing up to say 45. As im going through the gears and the Vac. starts getting up torwards boost it kinda stops at a random spot(before 7 psi, and I took the MBC off too so its all stock, which should be 7psi right?). So im still accelerating and say it stops at like 3 psi sits hesitates then starts dropping and rising but never goin past 3psi, keep in mind im still accelerating the whole time its doing this. But sometimes it goes to a different PSI then 3, sometimes it may just go to 1 and do it or up to 5. I don't think i've ever seen it actually hit 7. IS this a boost leak or what? I've checked all my IC piping quickly and didn't see or hear any signs of a boost leak. So im clueless...thanks for any future help guys.

Whew, you got alot of things to check.

1. Did the engine ever run full 7 PSI before?

2. Do you hear any funny noises under boost?

3. You can raise your idle by turning the screw on the IACV (big + screw on the intake manifold between the runners). I'd turn that until the engine hums on all 4. You can play it by ear.

4. Does the car drive smoothly? If not when does it drive rough?

The car drives smoothly, I tried looking foir the idle adjustment screw but it was dark last night. I thought it was in between the 3rd and 4th intake runner but I couldn't find the damn thing for anything. No funny noises under boost that im aware of. Also, the car did used to run up to 7psi before I took it into the shop. The car needed re-wired because Slow Motion Motorsports(the ones that wired it the first time) are retarded. They wired the car so the only injector that would fire would be the #1 injector and it was wired so it would constantly fire. When the car was like that it boost up to 7psi fine. Since then the only change that I have made was take off the POS aquarium bleeder valve people call MBC's. The shop I took it to also made some other changes, I can notice by looking under the hood he made a few new grounds, also closed off some Vaccuum hoses and added some new ones. He has a vaccuum hoses tapped into my hot pipe now as well.

Sounds like you have a turbo going out.

Pull off the intake and look at the compressor. If you see alot of oil then it's time to replace the turbo.

That or you have a big exhaust leak before the turbo.

Double check the vacuum lines to make sure they are going to the correct places.

okay I drove the car tonight to work and back and the car seemed to be boosting fine.. Odd.. It seemed to pull fine to 7psi. The car still acts like it wants to die as I come to a stop though. I found if I slow down by downshifting really slowly and then let the car really slowly roll to a stop it wont die, but it will act like its going to die..and be VERY close to stalling but not actually stall. Tomorrow im finally going to have a chance to mess with the idle adjustment screw, hopefully that helps. Another problem i've noticed, as I turn the car off it seems like it takes a few seconds to "shut down" and my SAFC and dash lights stay on for like 4 seconds after I turn the car off. And right before that car actually shuts off it shakes for a second a lot. Im lost on this one.

Just check the easy stuff that could be causing it to want to stall out. Like your sensory wires. And cleaning the valves on your intake manifold.

God why can't I find the stupid idle adjustment screw!! Nismo Freak, is it the big phillips screw in between the first and second intake runner? I called Zerolift Autolab to initially ask the question and they said its a small screw between the 3rd and 4th intake runner.
