Equivalence in tires size

I already have a set of 4 winter tires 225/70R16 that I'd like to use on my Rogue. Technically speaking, this represents a diameter difference of only 2% from the original tire size and they should be compatible.

Could this have negative side effects on any mechanical component like the transmission or brakes (or else) ?

It won't. The Rogue S (including 360 pckg.) is having 16" wheels so you should be fine. Plus to all of that car manufactures putting wheels a little bit smaller than the car can handle just to be safe. And as I stated couple threads before 1" difference will not make any issues to the car.
