Ok so I have a 1990 NA 5 speed Z32. When I bought the car the owner had mentioned that the rev limiter had been removed by a previous owner. As nice as that can be I would really like to have it put back on so that I don't accidentally rev the nuts off of it and have a paper weight at the front of my car. To my knowledge, you need an Eprom chip to reprogram the ECU to bring back the limiter (correct me if I am wrong). Do you guys know anyone or anyway to revert to stock ECU settings for free or cheap? I don't have much cash right now (like everyone else) but would like to have this put back on ASAP.

Thanks.

It isn't that hard to avoid over-revving your engine. Just take it easy. When you get the cash, you can get a new EEPROM from SZ, and request that it have a rev limiter, but that's going to cost you $99. FYI, the original chip was soldered in, not an EEPROM, so I doubt anyone would have it laying around, and plus you would have to solder out the EEPROM connector, and solder the old chip back in.
