15/20 was the point in posting since most of us can do better, closer to the orginal 16/22 and average 19.
The new EPA formula may have overdone it in their quest for better accuracy OR the older Q having less restrictive cats [full dual system].
OBD2 tends to enforce 14.7 A/F at idle whereas old Q ran leaner at idle.
At lot depends on ethanol and I understand the EPA now uses ethanol as the fuel now so those of us here to fore without ethanol may be in for a MPG decrease surprise.
Eighteen years later and the same displacement engines do about the same except for 5,6,7,8 speed transmissions improvement in highway consumption.
I doubt that the losses from AC compressor or bigger alternators have lessened in modern designs if anything they take more HP/fuel to operate.
All about displacement x 60 mph engine rpm or the speed of vehicle above 55 mph........................as the gov scientist knew back when they set it back in March 1974
