So I've been reading a few of the other V forums and there is some talk of these Eonon (out of Hong Kong) Navi/DVD units.

http://www.eonon.com

They are really inexpensive compared to the name brand counter parts, but the reviews are spread in both directions. For $225 It would almost be worth taking the risk. The one thing that really bothers me though, is it seems like the faceplate is really thick and stands way out from the dash. Was wondering if anyone had one of these and if so wouldn't mind sharing their thoughts on it.

Thanks

I just got the D2205

seems to be good. good software. only problem i've had with it is that the amp remote and power antenna wires did not work. but wire the amp remote to the fuse box and the power antenna wire to the red wire on the harness and all is good now.

I also ordered the E1002

They are working great and wiring was easy.

Hows the fit? I mean I've seen some pictures where the face plate is sticking out a good inch from the dash... Whereas something like the Pioneer units are either flush or recessed back a little bit.

I know this is asking a lot, but can you take / do you have any profile pictures? I'd like to see how far is stick out from the dash.

Thanks man.

sorry haven't visited this post in a while. i will try to get a pic of it tomorrow. the radio is not flush with the dash. it prob does stick out about an inch. but that is because the screen must tilt to eject the disc. or at least that is what i have understood. other then that the fit was great. dash piece fit perfectly over the radio. no need for trimming like some other units.

yikes... if only it didnt stick out from the dash so much! Price is great, features look great... but wowza. Think i'm going to end up going with a Kenwood or Pioneer.

Thanks for the pics Anthony, helped a lot!

Unless you're getting live traffic data, no. GPS signal is free.

Hey there. I just wanted to let you know that this weekend i messed with the radio some and was able to get it to go back a little further. i was also able to support it better with the brackets. before i had 1 screw in each side to hold the bracket on. now i can get 4 screw in each side like there should be. much better fit. here is what it looks like now
