Entry/Exit Function And Seat Memory Not Working After Service

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Got the steering rack, fuel pump, and steering motors replaced at the Dayton, Ohio dealer.

Now the entry/exit function (seats slide back and steering wheel raises) doesn't work, and the seat position memory does not work.

Reset it in the Comfort And Convenience settings (it was off) and activated it by pressing and holding the Set button on the door for 10 seconds with 2 blinks. Still doesn't work.

Tried activating the default factory settings in Comfort And Convenience, still no joy.

Any suggestions? Hidden disable function or button perhaps? The trip to the dealer is a 60 mile hike...

All those functions are controlled by the BCM. (body control module) If it was just the steering wheel adjustment, I would say it was an incorrectly installed position sensor which was an issue I experienced myself. But with all those functions not working, I think a return trip is unavoidable as the BCM sounds shot.

^ I completely agree.

I doubt the BCM is damaged. I do think there is an issue with one of the sensors in the steering column.

Keep in mind the BCM and ADP (Auto Drive Positioner) control units need to know exactly where the front seats, steering column, and mirrors (on some models) are positioned at all times. If the sensor voltage does not match what it thinks it should be the auto exit and preset buttons will not work and you will have no indication of a failure in the system other than it won't work.

Definitely make an appointment with the dealer to bring the car back in to them. There should be a code in the computer for the Tilt or Telescope sensor. It's a pretty easy fix.

Just a note.... It was Steve that helped me correctly diagnose and direct my dealer to repair my related issue, so his insight and suggestions should be your guide.

Thanks all for the replies. I finally got the EX back to the dealer and got it fixed up.

They told me a sensor in the steering column had not been aligned properly after the motor replacements. Works fine now.
