After reading the article and his email, I have a few conclusions to draw:
Being a parent comes first, not being a friend. Trying to parent your children when they are already beyond your scope is too little, too late.
If you couldn't let them fail when growing up, then don't be surprised that they don't know how to recover when they truly do fail as adults.
I have little to no sympathy for his plight or for that of his children. I do; however, weep for the grandkids.
