So made the move this morning and bought a 1999 Q45t with 94,180 miles! I've been poking around on here for about a week and learning what's going on with these cars. I test drove it this morning and fell in love with the ride. I couldn't show my excitement so I could get it cheaper. Needs a bumper repaint and a rear bumper repair. It's the light green color with grey or so interior. I do need some help from you guys, could you help me find some OEM floormats? It didn't come with any. I do have plans to service all fluids and what not. One more question, is there a transmission dipstick? Just poking around I wasn't able to find it right away. I am excited to be apart of the forum, my great grandmother has an Infiniti i30t and I fell in love with that. I may proposition her to switch cars... Haha, not! This will end up being my road/travel car so I wanna make sure it's perfect.
Thanks in advance for any help and advice!

Indeed. It's gonna be my little project to make it perfect for a while since I work part time and go to college full time. Took it out today for the first time since I got it and noticed the air was on the fritz. It blew cold sometimes and the compressor kicked on and off randomly. So I am assuming it needs a recharge. I'll have my mechanic do that the correct way. Fluids and what not I will handle myself.

Looks like they aren't offered any more... :( If anyone can point me in the direction of some that would be great. I have checked ebay and some local places and no one has them.

The gray ones that match the Stone Beige interior. I found them on Sewell Infiniti (Still have a few accessories and parts for purchase), but for some reason, 5 days after my order, they have been cancelled and all they are sending me on my order is the leather cleaner... So I sent them an email to find out what that's about. Because the product description still shows them available, but at a much higher price than I paid... I used them because I have a discount for being a part of ClubLexus.com.

Well getting stock mats will be tough for sure, that was why I bought 1 sets for my97'. Look around the web, there are places that make stock looking ones, also you can search around the country to other Infinti dealers that have them.

You should post up what has been done to the car, plenty of cheap but needed things at this age, including torsion bar links and also your shocks are probaly dhot if they are stock. Do you have the adjustables ones?

Welcome, you will be happy to get such a cool car, what did you pay?

I couldn't tell you all that's been done. He had lost the folder in a house fire, so I am being proactive and having all the fluids changed this week. The shocks are good IMO. It rides like a dream. And it does have the adjustable sport/comfortable button. I can tell the difference when I push it, so something must be working right.

That is great, most of those systems are toast by 100k. Replacing all fluids is huge for these cars, I have been running either Redline or Amsoil in mine for 15 years now and the transmission runs like new and the car is smooth as silk.

What's the sign of failing struts? I probably wouldn't even know it.

I'm gonna wait and see what Sewell Infiniti has to say. They didn't reply to my email from yesterday... I will call them tomorrow. They had OEM mats for $10 more than the link you gave me...

Well Sewell Infiniti doesn't carry the mats any more despite having them on the website... So I guess I am off to find an aftermarket solution. Possibly the one posted above.

Just took my first real drive today (55 miles). This thing rides wonderful! I absolutely love it. I've had it parked at my grandparents, so this time I brought my scan tool and diagnosed two bad knock sensors. I planned on them being bad going in to this adventure. I forgot to bring my scan tool the day of the sale. But you would never be able to tell that anything was wrong. So I have it at my mechanic getting all the fluids swapped out and possibly taking a whack at those sensors. Not sure if the funds are there to do it all at once. But who knows. So just giving a report, LOVING THE CAR so far!
