K&N is a trusted brand here.

I would do a cold air intake instead of just a cone filter.

Each 11F of hotter underhood air vs outside reduces the density and thus power output of an engine by 1%.

From no filter to worst dirty oem filter element is less than 1% in power variation. The main reason oem wants you to change filter is to improve dirt filtration [avoid ring and bearing wear] not to affect power or MPG.Too complicated for most so they just say helps MPG which people understand.

I would go with an AEM dryflow. They have the best filtration results from testing and they are super easy to clean. They have a filter to fit every application (cone, panel, round, etc.)

All you have to do is replace your stock air box with the cone. Make sure you don't unplug any sensors. There may be a temp sensor in the air box. I'm not familier with your car, even though I have the same engine.

I prefer http://www.sbfilters.com. They are top quality at half the price. Excellent product.

OEM filter from the Nissan dealership is the way to go. We are talking about a 120 hp engine and a percentage point or two is indiscernible. Save your money. Fred

Cold air intake for sure. Injen sounds very mean in my opinion and should give the same performance like others or even better. BTW don't forget a hookah for your car since you planning to install air intake.

I was looking at the fsm for the hr16de engine. It appears that the MAF is located inside the stock air box. Meaning unless the new intake has provisions for this sensor then your out of luck.

This is the critical thing to keep in mind. Drawing colder air through more plumbing is better than drawing warm air through less plumbing. Cone filter sitting open in the engine bay will lose power at operating temp. Might SOUND louder and make you think you're getting more power with slightly improved throttle response but power will drop, not increase. OEM cold-air intakes are generally much much better than the tuner crowd gives them credit for being. Especially a relatively straight-shot like the Versa's. Get a good flowing OEM replacement filter and forget about the stupid cones. If it's 70F outside and 200F in the engine bay you're looking at 130f difference. 12% power LOSS with cone filter. People pay big bucks for a 12% power GAIN, why would you pay for a LOSS?!
