Darn it. I was all excited to get my cool lookin enjuku racing cooling panel yesterday and tried to install it today.

Smaller Problem: 1 more hole needs to be drilled on the right side for a "clip" that is there, not a big deal.

Bigger Problem: darn hood won't close after install. I have a cf hood from vis, so it's a quality hood (relatively). I finally figured out that the part on the hood which allows the right side of the latch to "hook in" is being blocked by the aluminum.

It looks so nice I don't want to cut or bend it . But guess I have no choice, this sucks butt.

I was going to, but it's too late in the day . Anyway, I sent them an email, hopefully they'll reply w/ some helpful answers, or at least know how to make the next batch better.

Looks P-I-M-P though. Nothing but love for Enjuku.

sorry... but the problem could be your car since you don't have a stock bumper nor stock hood

the enjuku panel I have fits perfectly, the stock hood close and flush in like it did before. I don't know which hole you refered to but it was fine, I didn't need to dirll anything.

go enjuku!

Does anyone have the Signal Auto one? I was going to order it but I'd like confirmation that it fits and whatnot before I send them any money.

Bomex: enjuku is offering it for $69.99 + $14 shipping over at zilvia.net (on their site it's 89.99 + shipping).

SoCalS14: Damn, that panel is nutssssss. Too bad I already have one, darn.

What color is your cooling panel? Mine is some light purply gun-metal wanna be anondized color, not super black like in the Enjuku site and not nearly as dark as yours (is mine an older or new version?) .

Good to hear it's working for other people. Yea, I figured I would have something to do with my aftermarket hood. However, I'd rather modify the $80 piece than shave off my more expensive hood .

I can't shave off the part of the hood anyway because that will make the latch part even weaker. Although I have pins now, I don't want that latch snapping any time soon.

Modified your picture below (btw, nice looking setup under your hood):The red hole on the right is where I will be drilling my hole. It is not "necessary," but the hood release cable is attached via a clip to there, and I want the peace of mind that the cable is still where it's suppose to be. The clip (when clipped in) causes the right side of the panel to bulge, not too noticeable, but I notice it. The hole I will be mirroring will the the red hole on the left.

The green hole is the area which my hood bumps against and needs to be shaved. Do you think it could be because my hood is so light that it won't push against the aluminum hard enough to lock down?

You know, I don't have the ER panel, but I do have an aluminum panel currently...I had to cut off a corner of opening where my latch would connect. Its not too bad...I cut off just the corner..Smoothed it with a dremel, and it looks fine...

diverts air to stay lower and go thru the radiator where u want it to go, not all up in your hood and over the motor where it's less useful

As far as I know Cusco does not make them for the S13 as of yet. I can get pictures from one of my regular customers that bought one for the S14 last week though. I have the carbon fiber in 2 styles from GTP but they are not in the online catalog yet. The GTP cooling panels are available for the S13. Email me at [email protected] if you are interested in them. I will also check with Cusco on monday and see if they have anything for the S13 that I am unaware of.

First off I would like to say thank you for purchasing our product. Second I would like to let say that next time you have a problem with any of our product please contact us before posting anything on the internet. It tends to give other people a construted idea of us and our products.

Here are a few things that might help resolve your issue. First: The hole that is is supposed to be there for the hood latch cable, is not because that clip was not on our test car. Also, If you were to purchase any of these panels from Japan you would notice the same problem. In Japan the hole is on the other side. If you take a look at it you will see that that is where the hole is on ours. This SMALL issue will be resolved in the future. We honestly didnt feel it was a big enough issue, We have sold a TON of these and this is the first we have heard about it being an issue. We do apologize for that.

As for the hood not closing properly. I would honestly take a look at the hood and hood quality. I personaly have a VIS Hood on one of my cars and it fit poorly. I would suggest asjusting the latch or the hinges to help it line up a little better.

I promise you will have the same issues with some of the big name Japanese ones, ours is designed just like theirs.

Again, I am extremely sorry you are having trouble. Please feel free to contact me directly at 407-673-1320 or 1-888-SR20DET or email me at [email protected] if you would like to discuss this issue any further. We are here to help and will not leave you hanging.

Sincerely,Ken Harrion

Hi Ken, Thanks for replying with such detail and professionalism. I am sorry if it seemed like I was bad-mouthing your company. I did not mean to do that at all. I have bought items from you before this (hotshot header) and will continue to do so after this. I simply wanted to point out problems I was having with my specific hood, which I have not read anywhere on any manufacturer web sites or other forums. I just wanted people to know my issues so they hopefully have a better idea of some possible issues that may arise.

I actually did contact Enjuku Racing about this exact problem and only received an automated response, which I never received an actual response from. I am sure other manufacturers have this problem with my hood; if I had bought it from them, I would have also done the same.

I am glad I am not the only one who had this problem. Even you had this problem with the VIS hood. It would have been good to know issues like that beforehand. I understand that I should have asked before purchasing, but things like that do not come to mind; VIS hoods, as poorly as it fit with the cooling panel, is of much higher quality than many other carbon fiber hoods.

I have also found the source of the problem. The latch did line up correctly. I believe the reason that the stock hood works so well is that it is heavy; so, once closed, the hood can push the cooling panel down a little and then click in. I modified the position of the cooling panel up a ways and cut the portion I mentioned above. This allowed me to apply more force toward the center of the hood at a sooner time to allow the cooling panel to flex easier and let the hood click into the latch.

Furthermore, I did not just randomly post this problem on the Internet. I purposely posted it only on Nico because 1) Enjuku is a sponsor of Nico, so we are all already familiar with its high quality standards, 2) I have had problems with getting help from many different companies after already completing a sale; simply returning my product means I lose out on shipping both ways and 2 weeks of waiting; I know I can call up Enjuku Racing during the day, but I like posting on Nico - it is more convenient and I usually get a faster response, 3) this is a legimate issue - I am not putting up false claims and in no way saying that this cooling panel does not fit any hood - I spefically stated what hood I was using in hopes that it will give other people with the same hood or material a "heads up" in the future, and 4) if you answer this question on a public forum will help a lot of people as opposed to helping one person via telephone or email.

Again, thank you for replying. If I had known about this problem earlier, I would have still purchased the panel, but I would have saved 2 weekends of trying to get it to work with my hood.

Thanks,Quoc-Viet

Of course my other hand made ducting looks like hell..... but that is my problem.

I want to point out that if it was pushed down... the piece would have a dent or scratch since it's aluminum
