HELP!!!!!! :ohno:
Ok, this started last week. It first started when i was driving home from my job( its a 30 min drive on a good day, deffinetly enough to let the car warm up), i went to downshift to get around somebody, when the needle went over 3k the car wouldn't accelerate anymore, bogged down like it was going through mud and started bucking like a horse. naturally i thought mabye it could be the MAFs because it was also idling a little off, so i replaced it. But, it didn't work. Then,i figured mabye it was the fuel filter because it hadn't been canged for the life of the car (i'm the 4th owner, the body has 251,xxx on it) so i changed it, it was a good thing i did cause it was completely shot. I then tried to drive home, about 5 minutes into my ride, it started acting up again, but worse. now anytime i put the pedal past about half throttle it decelerates and starts loping. it even does this at a stand still and if i hold the throttle down too long it stalls out :wtf2: . i've also put injector cleaner in it to make sure they're clean. Any suggestions/ideas? i'm leaning towards a vacuum leak, or possibly a problem with the IAC or Throttle Position Sensor but i'm not certain. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Pat

Would try changing the ECU Temp sensor on the front of the engine (there are 2, one is for ECU and one is for stock gauge). The one with 2 wires is for the ECU and the one with 1 wire is for gauge.

alright, i scanned the car and it threw a maf code as well as a code for the ecu temp sensor. i replaced the sensor but to no avail...looks like it's onto MAF #3...

i had this same exact problem. turned out to be my vacuum line on my fuel pressure regulator busted and was dumping fuel into my engine which in turn didnt get burned up and went through my exhaust and clogged up my cat... all that being said i gutted my cat and replaced that hose for a dollar and it worked perfect so its an easy and cheap test
