I just bored my KA24E engine .40 over and I'm looking for some more things I can do to add HP without a turbo or NOS, what would be some good upgrades?

high compression pistons, head work, computer tuning/standalone...

All depends on what you wanna do with it in the long run

go to http://www.enjukuracing.com/ they have alot of stuff for every year and engine 240. including a cold air intake, header, underdrive pulley, and some other stuff. http://www.PDM-racing.com as cam upgrades. http://www.realnissan.com has turbo kits. JWT has ECU, cams, ajustable cam sprocket, and other stuff.

I bored the 2.4 liter engine .40, so he calculated it out to be 2.8 liters now...I haven't done the math so I couldn't tell ya if thats right or not...

it's not. it's still 2.4L.

the displacement on the KA is maxed out. you won't get to 2.5L without some custom work.

it had too have gone up some, each cylinder bored .40 over has to have pushed the displacement of the engine up somewhat...

You sure it's not 0.040 over? and not .40 over? .4 seems to be a lot!

Yeah, .04 is more like it. .4 would increase the diameter by .8, which is...beyond the block width. But I've heard of people making 2.5 liter KAs. Which had to be pushing it, because there is really not too much edge to work with, it's a skinny block :) Sorry for my silly math in the previous post, I just assumed when I saw "bored" and ".4" that the litrage increased by .4, my bad.

it is .040 over...we say it as 40 over so i was typing it like .40, but .040 is what it is...it has to be close to 2.5L displacement wise...

no.

a 0.040 overbore will give you 148.82 cubic inches or 2438.72 cubic centimeters...

which is still 2.4L.

ok...now i have some numbers...thanks

do they have intakes i can buy for my car...I'm sure they do, I just haven't found anything yet. I think I might try to build my own head for my car...that seems to be a big project to take on, might waste a lot of metal too, but I think I can get some major HP just by making my own head...

Why would you want to make your own head??

There is a lack of one on his shoulders....*L*Sorry had to put that in. The OEM head is pretty good, and I'd doubt you can improve the design much, except for porting and polishing it. Then get performance cams, and that's about it. Since you say that you weren't able to find any intakes for your KA, which are over abundant everywhere, including E-Bay, I think you haven't given this enough thought/research. This forum has plenty of posts about the different intakes and their specific benefits, just use the search button. Good luck with your project.

I'm gonna look around...I haven't made too much effort to do so far...

about the head, its just a project I want to try, it won't be recent, but its definitely an idea. I currently work for a Pro Stock Bike team so I have my connections and probably could build myself a head without too big of a head ache. We currently squeeze 320+ HP out of our 92.0 Cu. In. 4 cylinders (2 valves per cylinder config.) The new figures could possibly be in the 330 range, I haven't been to the shop since the new dyno has been setup and what not...for now I might take my head off and do a port job, but I would really like to get a better intake before I do that....

http://www.antronbrown.com for any of you who want to check out the bike
