Ok, I have a really wierd problem. I recently swapped in an s13 exhaust cam for the intake side. The first time I did it, it was off by 1 tooth and had no power, but idled and reved fine. The next day I set it to where it should be, 4 teeth rotated countercockwise from stock. I had cyclinder #1 at TBC and had both cams facing away from each other. I turned the engine and it rotated freely, no bent valves or anything. I go to start the car, but it doesnt turn over.I check the timing, and set it back to 20 degree BTDC, but realized I had flooded the engine. I disconnected fuel pump and injectors, the car slowly starts up and idles at 1k for a couple of seconds, then dies due to lakc of fuel. I reconnect everything, the car turns over, then dies. I disconnect the fuel pump and injectors once more, and the car starts up and idles fine again for a couple of seconds, then died.I go back and connect everything again, it starts, barely idles for like 1 second, and dies. Any idea as to what may be wrong?

this is a long shot, but i cam describe the exact same thing happening to me.

except i had a fine running car, then i fixed something in the transmission. then when i fired it up it didnt work right. an injector had just decided to die.

so maybe check injectors with a multimeter, or worst comes to worst do a compression test, it sucks to be off by a tooth i can tell you that though. its also possible you had some extreme fouling on the plugs too, but i dont know. i had the same problem same situation, so id check injectors, i dont know why they just decide to die...
