hey everyone...basically today i drove to the local movie theaters to meet some friends. i park with the engine off for about 10 minutes...go back to the car to leave and the engine won't turn on. I notice the check engine light is on but the thing that disturbs me the most is the engine won't even turn over. it's just totally unresponsive....so i thought to myself - maybe my starter's screwed up? or is it something else? i'm clueless on this guys...i just want my car running...help is greatly appreciated! thanks!

What year? Manual or Automatic? Do your headlights turn on? How did you get it home? Towtruck?

ok try this:

get in the car put it in 2nd

have your friends push you make sure your foot is still on the clutch

get yourself moving forward for a bit then pop the clutch twice and it should start.

if it doesnt then your starter is dead and you had the same problem I did like 3 days ago.

Does your car make a clicking sound when trying to start? If so, could be a dead battery. If it doesn't even click at all, try looking at your ignition/starter wire to see if its making contact with starter.

Start by checking the electrical system. Check your relays. Check your cabling. Turn the headlights on and have somebody watch them while you try to start the car. Bad battery they will go dim and your starter will click or chatter.

Once you eliminate an electrical problem, examine the starter. From there check all associated hardware.Good luck.

the engine wouldn't turn over at all so i ended up push starting it and then driving it to a local mechanic. he hooked it up to a voltmeter and it was the starter...it's costing me 275 bucks including labor...not that bad....but that's 275 down the drain....could have been a 2.25in exhaust with a borla muffler....
