Lately my QX4 has been acting up. When you turn ignition on, nothing happens, sometimes it takes like 3-4 turns before car would start, and sometimes it starts right up. When I turn key, it's total silence, no clicking sounds, but all dashboard lights come on. Car Battery is an Interstate from Costco and it's like a couple of months old.

Any ideas what could be the culprit. I've read online it could be ignition switch or starter

Mine has been doing this intermittently for about 5 years, but it always starts. So, I leave it be.

Good to hear that JPK, but my wife drives this car and I'm afraid she would get stuck. I guess I could stop by Auto Zone and have them check my starter.

But at least I know it's not about to die anytime soon, that is if you have had this for the last 5 years:)

In these cases it's usually the starter brushes on their way out. One thing you can try is rapping on the starter with a wrench or hammer. Don't brutalize it or start putting dents in it, but a few good raps. If it consistently starts after doing this replace the starter ;) The brush contacts degrade over time and stop making a good connection, sometimes in particular spots.
